It may sound like a stupid question, but I bet all of you have had moments where you wanted to just go on vacation all the time and forget about schooling. Sure, most people need money, which they obtain by going to school and then getting a job, but what if money wasn't an issue? What motivates you to work hard all the time if you don't know where it's going to lead you?

We all have some sort of dream and/or ambition... true, we dont exactly know where our life leads us, but we want to be ready to capture that dream if it comes about.

If money weren't an issue, some of us just value the outcomes of hard work... helping other people. We like to heal and see peoples lives enriched by what we do.

It can be a lonely place just sitting on the couch all day. What difference can you make isolated and alone?

Sure, you can be a lazy couch potato, but that'll get old, pretty quickly. Or you can play games and have just enough activity to keep you from becoming fat, unhealthy, and dying young. But prepare yourself to live alone, as you'll probably be really boring and stupid and incapable of holding an intelligent conversation with other people (unless you watch a good amount of educational television programming - oh, wait - that's like schooling).

Since you don't state your age, it is assumed that you are probably under 21. Sure, you may not know where life may lead you, after you get an education. But no one can really be certain, in the present day and age.

Develop some skills and a decent knowledge base. Concentrate on transferable skills; those which can adapt to more than one career field. Create options for yourself. Read. Question. Observe. Pay attention. Create.

For along the path of life, if you aim at nothing, you hit it.

The reason for working hard all the time is for my own personal satisfaction. I'll give you an example. I have 2 uncles. One of them was so very popular in school. The other one was a normal kid who always wanted to try to do his best but just had bad luck. Or so he thought. My 1st uncle told me the other day. Study hard and work hard or just look and learn from me. I was the popular kid in school and thought I would just get by on my popularity and now look at me, at my old age, I'm working as a security officer for the nerds I used to make fun off. Because I dont know how to do anything else. I never tried anything, just wanted to stay home, sleep late and live off mom, and wanted to party and have fun. My second uncle, he was an athlete and lost his leg in a motorcycle accident when he was 18. he was very depressed for a while, did some drugs, alcohol, etc. Got his life together and works for a customs agency. He does a lot of walking. Gets a lot of rashes on his leg from the orthopaedic leg. But he's happy. He says he gets up everyday, and although he knows he has many challenges ahead of him, daily, he Gives Thanks to God that he is alive and can get up and can walk. He's thankful that he has the opportunity to try to be better everyday, and he's happy. Yes, if $$ wasn't an issue he said he would not want to stay home, because that would make him depressed. He needs to feel useful. He claims he will become a volunteer in a rehab center. But you need to think that you must take care of your $$ wisely, like investing it or in a business because money eventually runs out. Don't wind up frustated. You never know whats going to happen in the future, but thats the awesome ride we take everyday, called LIFE> what if you lose it all. You need to find out something that makes you happy. I dont know what you like. but you should do something that you like. Not necessaryly work, maybe volunteer, but do something that enriches you, but do something that makes you happy, that allows for you to grow mentally and spiritually.

There's an expression that says something like: "the harder you work for something, the more satisfaction it will give when you achieve it". It feels so good when you look back at some point in your life, and know you made it through the tough times! Feel proud of yourself and be glad that you had or have the chance to go to school and educate yourself... there's a lot of people out there who aren't so lucky!

I work hard because I want to be successful and look back on my life and be proud of what I have accomplished. I love to learn, the more you know the more you can do.

See, everybody needs money, that's the world we live in and we try our best to make ourselves feel good. We have worth and we earned what we have. Vacations and such have to be appreciated to the extent that we have worked hard and did our best to get where we are in life.

If money wasn`t an issue, I would just travel.
(inside the U.S. these days)
However, most of us don't have this option. If you are one of them,if you don't do your best you will regret it later.
