I'm not sure if someone's already said this but when you pick her up are you separating her from her favourite toys or comfort item (ie, a blanket or teddy-bear)?
Try having an item she loves and pick her up. Another sneaky way to do it is to borrow an item of your mom's clothing - ie, a shirt/ jumper. Kids tend to be associative by nature - ie, they remember that jumper belongs to the nice person, and be a little more trusting. We do that as adults too by the way. lol.
Try giving her a new toy or even singing to her - kids love music. As you sing, gradually move closer. It might take time but it will work.
The other thing I was just thinking of was that we learnt in class recently (I'm studying welfare), that in the first two years of a child's life, they bond with their primary carer (ie, usually and traditionally a mother) and this is really of key importance in the first three to six months of the child's life. That's not to say you need to wait till then. She's most likely ready for you but if she's not been around anyone else it could freak her out at the start.
Try the toys and singing and good luck!
Meg

you are able to sleep practice her for her protection. Cuddle and do your nightly habitual yet then positioned her in her crib and rub her back, communicate or sing to her, despite the fact that calms her. Do each and every thing wanting identifying on her up. If she in basic terms won't provide up, do no longer enable her cry longer than approximately 15 minutes. try this till she falls asleep. If she wakes contained in direction of the night, do the comparable element. make useful she is fed and altered and start up off throughout back. you will probable lose sleep some cases inspite of the undeniable fact that that is properly worth it. you additionally can get a crib toy that makes the mummy's heartbeat sound or white noise. this might help. there are various aspects in this because of the fact it extremely is an exceptionally person-friendly concern. you are able to analyze it and locate what works best for you and your husband.

Make sure that you are holding her correctly and giving her head enough support. Also, try not to be nervous about holding her because babies can sense nervousness. Smile at her alot and spend time with her when your mother is holding her. I'm sure that you will bond with your sister eventually and then she'll pester you and you'll wish you hadn't. :)
