My boyfriend and I are going to visit his parents. They live on a ranch and have lots of animals, including kittens and cats. I have a 3 month old kitten who hasn't gotten any shots yet. Do you think by taking her to his parents' house she might get sick or catch something?

PLEASE DO NOT TAKE HER. If she isn't vaccinated fully yet, you wouldn't only be endangering her, but other cats and kittens might catch something she has.

You should never take a pet out into any area's other then their own area if they haven't been vaccinated yet. Your kitten is much better off at home. If your parents live on a farm there are other animals that they can catch diseases or sicknesses from, their is feces, and mice. All these things are dangerous for your kitten without being vaccinated. Leave kitty at home and take her/him with you the next time after they have been vaccinated.

Yup...don't do it. She is too young and you don't want to let her run about in a place she doesn't know. Besides, cats are territorial and they may not like her there....you don't want a kitten to be injured or get sick from a barn cat. Many of them can have URI and will pass it on. Board your kitten at a vet or boarding center.....and get her the shots first. She will thank you for it and you will feel better during the visit knowing she is safe and sound.

Yes. She will most likely get worms if she spends time at a farm. Also, get your cat vaccinated immediately for Feline Leukemia! If she hasn't been tested, test her NOW! She is more than old enough for her first shots. Don't risk it, get her vaccinated! If money is an issue, got to your local humane society, they do it for a discounted price.

If the kitty goes and will be outdoors, put a flea collar on her. Check her ears after you leave for ear mites and get her dewormed for good measure. Don't take risks with your kitty's health!

Too young, and unvaccinated; it's out of the question! Also, cats don't really relish new and changing experiences. As much as you'd enjoy showing her off, they are not known for relishing new and varying experiences. The cat (now grown a bit!) wouldn't even have the time to get used to the situation, before it was time to go again.

She needs to go to the vet for vaccines before coing around any other cats. They can carry serious feline disease that they pass to each other. Do it for her safety and for the other kitties saftey. Wouldn't you feel bad if yours gave yours gave theirs some disease?

as long as his parents cats are healthy she should be ok but don't let her play outside and watch her so she doesn't get hurt but it'll be safer for you to leave her with a friend

it is possible. cats generally aren't good travelers. they don't like to have drastic environmental changes. it is hard for them to adjust. it would be best for your kitty if you left her at home and found someone to check on her daily.
