There's probably a legal one defined by whatever laws are in place where you live.
But real life is more complicated than a rule book, so the obvious answer is that it has less to do with your age and more to do with when you feel it is right for you.
However, if you are very young (under sixteen or so) you might consider whether or not you are mature enough to make that decision for yourself - in which case err on the side of caution if you are not sure. The first time should be special so don't waste it on convenience of circumstance.
In short you must do what is right for you - as opposed to right for boyfriends/girlfriends or anyone else who may be pressurising you to have sex or right for parents/teachers/priests/other moral guardians who may be pressurising you not to.

Well legally speaking it would be until you are 18 years old, physically speaking well that could be a little earlier than 18 give or take 4 to 5 years.

I think you should have and idea of the answer, but i certainly think you should focuss yourself on wich is the right person to loose your virginity without having any undesired consecuence.
I said that because we human are just looking for fun and to satisfy ourselves and sometimes it's just for curiosity.
To have a really fulfilling remembrance of your first moment i think you should be in love and make sure that you are into a long term relationship, share the most beautiful moment of you life with someone who really love you.
Life seems to be long but the reality is that we just have a second, make sure you spend it with the right person, the first time is just once in lifetime and unforgetable.
