all of those are "cooking oil". recipes just say "cooking oil" because everyone has their own preference for oils to cook with. i prefer vegetable, but my brother swears by olive. it all depends.
peanut oil is also great for frying.

It depends on what you want to do with it. I wouldn't bake a cake with olive oil. If you are doing something at a high temp, peanut oil is best because it has a high smoke point. If you are just making dressing use whatever you want. If you are makine mayo - use the vegetable oil. Vegetable oil is a safe substitue for just about any other kind of oil because it has a medium smoke point, and mild flavor.

You can use any of what you already have. Cooking oil may mean vegetable oil. But they are all interchangeable. Some are better than others depending on what you are cooking. Olive oil is best health-wise.

Olive Oil is the perfect substitute. Not only is it lower in cholesterol and trans fat, but it tastes great!
The peanut oil has a vegetable oil is the common name for cooking oil. Or Canola oil. They both are COOKING OILS.
Good Luck!

If you are baking I would use vegetable oil. If you're sauteing use olive oil, and if you're frying use peanut oil or vegetable oil. Each type of oil is suited to individual tasks, and some are interchangeable. Don't bake or fry at a high heat with olive oil though- it has a very low smoking point.

You are so cute! All of those are cooking oils. Olive oil is healthier and if you have extra virgin it tastes great. Vegetable oil is lighter and has a milder flavor. Don't put the vegetable oil in a super hot pot/pan or you will set your kitchen on fire.

Usually, cooking oil can be any of those three. Vegetable is oil most commonly used and will have the most mild flavor.

The vegetable oil is probably the safest bet. The oil or peanut is going to give whatever you are making an aftertaste. That can be good for somethings and bad for others.

Check the labels on any types of oils; any that can be used will be designated 'suitable for cooking'
