Well, according to the "Old Testament" anyone man or woman, with any kinds of infection, virus, or abnormal, occurances, had, to either, stay in the house, until they were "Well", or they'd simply walk down, the street, and had to let anyone know, they were sick, or infected, by saying "Unclean" so the person, getting ready, to cross their path would be informed, to cross the street....And, it also seems like I read, that women, on their periods, couldn't even leave the house, until their periods were over.....Its Gods way, of cleansing the body, so I would imagine, it also, would be considered by God, Unclean, and the woman, in the bible days, probably weren't able to have intercourse, with their husbands, either....... You'd think, so anyway, because of how much,, they felt other things, were considered "unclean"......I cant be real sure, but, it would definately seem to be a small sin.....My sister, & her husband, would only have sex, when she was on her period, or they would have it, at other times, but, he always, took it out, when it wasn't her period, and kept it in, when it was that time,so she wouldn't have to use birth-control....So, to answer, your question, I do know, that we are under, the New Covenant, with Jesus, being our, "Sin Sacrifice"...If your in doubt, just ask for forgiveness, from God..... With a Sincere, heart.......And just dont do it anymore......

My ex-husband and I had sex while I was on my period during our early years of marriage. That was 20 years ago. I did not feel it was a sin then and I don't think it's a sin now. It is a matter of personal preference between you and your husband. BTW, I agree with Michael S above...the sex drive kicks into overdrive during that week!

According to the old testament a woman was "unclean" during her period and it was a sin to even sleep with her, let alone have sex. However, considering the state of a woman's hormones during the menstrual cycle, I don't know about other women, but I was always hornier during my period and I didn't give a rip if it was a sin or not!!!

In what possible manner could this be a sin?
The only line I draw here is going DOWN on a woman when she's having her period.

If you are Christians, no. If you are Jews, yes.
There is an Old Testament purity law prohibiting this.
But Christians believe Jesus fulfilled the Law and we no longer have to follow the laws of purity, diet, and temple worship.
The moral laws like the Ten Commandments are eternal.
The purpose of sex is to bring a husband and wife closer and to create human life.
With love in Christ.

All these christians that are telling you it is not a sin are doing a terrible disservice to you (or lying).
Read Leviticus. It is explicitly clear that when woman is on here period a man may not even TOUCH her. Thats right, the bible requires women to be locked in their houses for seven days without any male contact.
Now, if you believe that is immoral, I agree with you. But have you asked yourself why your God laid down this immoral rule?

Dear Blazing,
I am not sure of your religion, but in Catholicism, this probably wouldn't be a sin because you are not actively prohibiting life (by your own actions), and you are promoting the second end of marriage, which is the unitive function.

Early christianity held that ALL sex was sinful, even with your spouse. The church has since relaxed that position. Ultimately, do YOU think God has a problom with it? That's much more important than what the Bible says.

Ephesians 2:15 Through his body on the cross, Christ put an end to the law with all its commands and rules. He wanted to create one new group of people out of the two. He wanted to make peace between them.
hummm... "put an end to the law." No, nothing wrong with it.

Nope, much of the old testament traditions were established because they lived under the law and these tradtions were reflective symbolically to man's relationship to Christ today.
There is a covenant of grace now.
