Can a white persons hair get nappy?

I just always wondered, and since I have enough anonimity I feel comfortable enough to ask.

Generally not. I've known white people with very curly hair before, but the curls were always looser than black people's hair. You can over perm your hair and make it sort of nappy, but only old ladies do that (poodle hair).

You may be anonomous but you can still sound intelligent ok. If you mean can a caucasion person have curly hair then the answer is yes.......... Have you ever seen a caucasion guy like Richie on Happy Days with the red hair? It's really curly and can be on the wild side. Well most African American people have curly and overcurly hair which is why we get relaxers, to relax the curls, straighten the hair. But a caucasion person that has straight hair has to get a permanent in the hair, which adds curls and this allows them to have the body and lift they need if they want to curl their hair and the curls hold for the whole day. You should be comfortable enough within yourself to ask a question even if the whole world can see your face, facts are still facts. But as far as your own culture is concerned, read up on it so you can know for yourself............ Everything these people type on these sites is not neccessarily the truth..........

Yes. For one thing, a lot of white North Americans are really racially mixed, so they could get the "nappy" gene from a black ancestor. Also I think a lot of Southern Europeans have mixed with blacks historically. I don't know if there's a black connection with the Irish, but some of them have such naturally curly hair, it's kind of like African hair too.

Can white people hair get nappy? yes they can what we as black people call nappy for us their hair gets frizzy, tangled and extremely curly sometimes a combination of all three and there for they will sometimes refer to their hair as well as being "nappy". It depends on family genetics some people have wavy hair some have extra straight hair it all depends i've even seen white people rock'n dread locs so if their can do that i guess it can do anything! but i hope that answers your question.

My cousin does and i don't think that we have any black people in the ancestry, well we probably do some where but not any in memory. her hair is very nappy. although to straighten her hair she doesn't need chemical straighteners, leave in conditioner and a flat iron works for her,

My mom's hair is terrible. It's extremely curly, so she gets it permed straight. When she goes three weeks without getting another perm, it gets terribly nappy! I am a lucky person though. My hair is board straight...

Oh Definitely! I've seen some really nasty looking hair on white guys many times! Mostly the pot smoking hippy types! Their hair actually starts to get dreds & smell & they just put Patchouli oil in it! YUCK!!!

Not naturally. Tightly curled hair comes from tightly curled roots, which we don't have. You can create temporary tight curls with small enough perm rods, but thats not really the same thing.
