If there is an outlet under the tv near the floor you can have it moved up pretty cheap. Otherwise you can punch a whole in the wall and thread it through to another area, which is a pain. I would go the electrician personally. You can always get some cord cover, they are hard plastic can be painted and are not very noticable, though they are like half and inch wide and you would want to center it on the wall under the tv...........go for the electrician!

I work for an electrical shop and install TVs like this.
Electrical code wouldn't allow an electrician to cut a hole and feed the cord down. You would have to do it that way that on your own.
Best and cleanest would be to have an electrician put a plug behind where the TV is going. You are still going to have the other cables to contend with, an electrician can route in wall cables too.
As some one suggested before there are covers to hide the cords with if you want to spare the expense of an electrician, a viable option if you can make it work for your situation.
Some one also suggest Circuit city and the like, bad idea they charge a bundle then cut rate a sub contractor. A sub contractor working at a cut rate is not a good idea. They (circuit city) wanted to pay us $45 for a service they were charging $120 for, see what I'm saying. Go to a custom home theater installer or electrician rather than the big box stores for these services.
It would be ideal, but not necessary to have the TV there when the electrical is done, it doesn't need to be mounted.

their is only two things you can do, 1 is the sell a molding to cover the cable. but you can see this.
2 you have to cut into the wall , now it depends on where the power source is because you have studs in the wall
ive install one above my fireplace i cut hole about the size of wall socket, the with a 4 foot drill bit i driil sideway untill it came out of the book shelves.
but it not like putting a wire on a string you still got to go thru joist

We have ours on the wall and the audio store installation guy brought with him some plastic tubing to conceal the cables, looks like a snake that you slip the cords in. You can get them in gray or black

It would be easier to take the cord to the plug unless it is on an outside wall, then you have to deal with insulation. From what Ive heard plasma is not the way to go,they loose thier brilliance and after acouple years they are only half of what they started
