True, free credit report is from annualcreditreport.com You can pull one from THE BIG THREE once a year at no charge. If you want your FICO score, you will have to pay a nominal charge. (I got mine from one place for five bucks.)

They passed a new law there are 3 credit companys that will give you a free credit report once a year. so if you space it out every 4 months you can get it free. Your number is very important if it is not up then forget about a car, house, loan, apartment, credit cards. Now with that said your credit score may cost you but I have seen it only cost 5-7.00

Since you already started off with 1 billion points, I am going to have to give you a -999,999,170. Given that other scores this should give you an average of 710. With this score you are pretty set... now don't go around and mess it up!!! Really, take care of your credit... I wish that in real life our credits could be figured out this easily.

I don't see how your credit score is a useless number, it's not. All you have to do is apply for a credit card, and if you get denied, you have 30 days to request a credit report for free.
