That really depends on the person. Overall, I would tend to say no especially the older you get. The older you are the more set and stable you are in your ways.
I have seen kids in middle school and high school change a lot in 1 year. Especially that transitional year from 8th to 9th grade.
Most change is gradual

Everyone changes. Without change you have stagnation and death. Most people change after some major event in their lives. These events are not always obvious. It could be a birth, death, or change in living arrangements, such as going off to school. Other changes are more subtle, such as hearing someone speak, or reading something that made you think.

Yes. There are multiple reasons people change but the biggest example would be having children!
Also, look at kids... they're changing daily!

One year can be a LONG time depending on how old you are, what is going on in your life, the relationships you hold, etc. A person can almost transform into someone else within the course of a year depending on what happens in their lives and how they deal with it.

Think about all the things that can happen in a year. School...going to a new school...promotion...firing...even a baby can be made and born in less than a year! So, YES.
