Personal choice. Good for them for knowing what they want (or don't want).
I do not believe it is fair to have children in order to please extended family. It is a decision for those who will be their parents and no one else.

That's there choice. My older sister always said she was never having children and now she has two. But some people just don't want kids. There are so many reasons why people don't want children and they should be respected for that. Think of all the people that had children by accident and can't provide for them financially, can't give them the love they need, and all the children that are just dumped somewhere because there not wanted. Choosing not to have children is just as good a desicion as choosing to have children.

I feel that people who choose not to be parents make this choice because they may feel that they might not succeed in being a parent or have no parenting skills what so ever. While there are families with many children who help with siblings and families who have teenage children who babysit. If these couples feel that they cannot handle a child then they should not bring any children into the world. The child will only suffer.

Personal choice, who am I to say it's not a good choice. Plus some people should not reproduce. I think there are too many children out there already. My husband and I decided not to have children as we both work very demanding jobs and do not want them to be raised in by some stranger in a daycare.

I think that if the decision is made for the right reason and is a shared decision between a couple, then it is a good decision. There are plenty of unwanted kids in the world who would have been better off never being conceived. If a couple is sensible and careful, they won't have to deal with unwanted pregnancies and resent their children. This may be hard to understand for some people who either have kids, want kids or want them and can't have them. I believe there are people in the world though who are too selfish to care properly for another human life and it is best that they don't have kids.

It's really up to them. I think it's a good choice though, if everyone had 3 children, it will increase the population so much and we can't handle the current population anyways. There has to be some limiting action taken soon.

I am one of them.

Sometimes, it scares the crap out of me. Lets face it - 98% of the people out there that are procreating are poor, uneducated and unemployed. Chances are, their children will learn the same skills from their parents. If I cared enough about the world after I leave it, Id be smart and leave some of my own genes to help make the world a little better. But the other half of me says that I wouldnt want to subject a child of mine to all the hate and pain in this F'ed up world.......

I think that it is a sensible choice. It is better for people to decide that they dont want to have children, then have them and dont want them. Children are living beings that need to be loved, if you cant offer that then dont have any,

I think its their choice and not anyone elses business.

I don't think my purpose as a woman in this life was to have children I did not want.

I chose not to have children and I did the right thing for me.

That is an interesting question. I never thought I wanted to have children until I realized there would be no one to visit me in the nursing home if I didn't!

Now, if either of my two children actually DO visit me, it will be worth it, right?
