Sounds like you've done a lot of work and research. I'm putting the link for the gastric balloon surgery option. Perhaps this can help your son.

i have only ever had patients that are adult having the gastric bypass surgery or gastric y on roue as it is also called by some. They would probably recommend alternate measures before surgical intervention. As with any surgical procedure, there are also so many risks involved. I would bet out there somewhere, there would be surgeons willing to do the procedure. Just do your homework first.

Gastric Bypass Surgery /gastrectomy/stomach stapling /lapband (all types of weight loss surgery) is very safe nowadays. It is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges obesity surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare.I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.

I have also read that they arrange financing for american and canadian patients as obesity surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor i personally believe that your obesity surgery can be easily handled in India as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

My cousin got her revision surgery for gastric bypass in India through the forerunners healthcare .She is more than very happy with the results. She has lost 65lbs in 5 months. She just paid 25% of the amount she was quoted in USA and is all praise for this forerunners healthcare company.hope this helps

you would have to talk to each surgeon individually as each surgeon you visit may or may not be willing to try. it is hard to pinpoin exactly one surgeon and say 'yes, he will do it' because they each may have their own reasons for why it is or isnt a good idea. i would suggest finding surgeons close to you who perform the procedure and then meet with each of them with your son - explain your situation and see if they would be willing to try. this is a very difficult operation with many side effects. any abdominal surgery can be dangerous and pose alot of risk, so the surgeon may be hesitant to perform it on a teenager. also, the diet requirements after the surgery are very strict and the teen needs to follow them EXACTLY or else they may risk harming themselves even more due to overdistending the stomach. it may be hard for a teen to follow this diet because not only are portion sizes small, but they must eat things like liquids, soft foods...foods that their peers dont eat. they may feel peer pressure to eat things like pizza or hamburgers. your son must really understand what is going to happen to him and what he must do after the surgery to make it successful, and he must be very mature to handle this type of surgery. for this reason, a surgeon may choose to not perform the surgery. so let your soon meet surgeons and let the surgeons decide for thmselves after meeting and talking to yoru son.
