You may want to check the gov of Ontario's website....or go into your local employment office and ask them...you are supposed to have a job to go to when you go back to work...its in the labour standards act, that when you go back to work, you have to have your own job...or something comparable. You don't lose your seniority when on maternity leave...I'm in B.C. so i know BC's labour standards...I can't see them differing too much from Ontario's. Look into the Ontario government website.

That all depends on the company that you work'd for. Check with company policy and see how long after termination you're insurance stays active. In my case when I was fired my insurance was termainated immediatly, which sucked for me because I was six months pregnant at the time. So check with whoever handles human resources at your old job and they should be able to let you know, or you can always check with your insurance company to see if your insurance is still active.

You mean, can you collect unemployment? I did. I was laid off when I was ready to go back to work, and I got unemployment for 6 months.
