Middle-East Racism?

Question

There's so much Middle East racism in the USA. What do you think when you see people of Middle Eastern nature. Do you automatically assume terrorist, or do you pass without second thought?

I'm Lebanese (and Italian, and Norweigan)... I'm j/w. Why do u care why I care? :sorry, I'm getting defensive:

People have to see past the stereotypes and realize that not all people of a group are evil, just the extremists. Most of the people you pass by on the street or any public place are simply people and should have some respect from everyone no matter what race they are. That is what makes America and Americans great are these qualities and it is why our country has grown and prospered so much. Make no mistake bad people are out there but it is our governments responsibility to take care of it, not the citizens.

seeing on how I'm bored out of my mind, and you really seem to ask good questions, I think I'll give an answer. Well to start off I'm half Egyptain. You won't see that much, kind of have dark skin. But well my father really does look it. He's from Egypt. He's muslim, he speaks perfect arabic. So well I know what it is like. I used to hate him. Me being a Roman Catholic because of my mom and personal reasons that I'd rather not discuss. But deep down inside I knew I was the same. My blood runs from the middle east, to hate my father would be to hate half my culture, half of what I am, so well it's the same with anything. I mean you have crazy lunactis with other religions, none that made such dramatic effects such as 9/11. But well those so called "terriosts" they are taking their religion and trying to find loop holes to justify their own personal beliefs. All Muslims aren't terriosts, nor is anybody from the middle east. It's radical people who have the wrong idea and trying to make a scapegoat of their own religion. So well when I see my dad or any of his friends, I don't have any thoughts about him or any of them being bad. I'm not rasict at all anyways, hope my answer could help in some way.

I pass them without a second thought. I dont assume that people from the middle east are terrorists. Having a terrorist here in St Louis seems so out there! I usually think "I wonder where they are from"

this's never gonna end...i'm muslim & i'm proud of it.
i travel every summer & i'm wearing scarf so it's an indicator that i'm muslim,,,people in the street are staring at me & giving me their crazy looks like i've killed their parents or something!can u imagine that they're even stare at my little sisters that way! although they aren't wearing scarf but they just give them the most hateful aggressive looks, can u imagine!my sisters got really scared many times & asked me: why are they looking at us this way ? have we done anything wrong to them? it's the reaction for %90 people in the street...
compare them with the muslims when they see a little kid they smile & try to wave or do anything that make him laugh...
if some muslims happend to be terrorists it doesn't mean that they represents us...actually it doesn't mean that they're muslim at the first place!!...we're all against war & terrorists so what makes them hate us! we hate the same thing.
in each religion there's terrorists so why are they focusing on the muslim ones?! but i repeat IF THEY'RE TERRORISTS THEY CAN'T BE CLASSIFIED AS MUSLIMS..our religion say so.

I assume they hate waiting in line. They rarely ever put their small children in carseats. They never wear a seatbelt. Whenever I see them at the whorehouse in Dubai they always cut in front of me. When they drive they like to tailgate me and shine their brights on me blinding me. Then they pass using the emergency lane at 130 miles per hour. As an american they assume I am a sex hungry drunk so whenever I come to their house they always put porno on their dvd player and offer me whiskey in diwaniya because they assume that is my culture. When they go to Mcdonalds or any fast food restaurant they never clean up after themselves or throw away their trash and put up their tray. They like to sleep. They do not do manual labor. Their woman automatically turn into go-go dancers/party girls whenever their man/male relative/ husband leaves the room. They are very passionate about their religion wether they are muslim or christian where as americans just go to church whenever they feel like it. These are pretty much my assumptions.

Most Americans are not that good at geography so they do not really know who they are racist against. They pretty much lump all of Asia together.

I also ussually assume Lebanese girls are kinda slutty. But I think that is from hanging out with kuwaitis.

The question was middle east racism. Why is everyone saying muslim this, muslim that? I think most Americans lump muslims as middle eastern when in fact they are everywhere. Indonesia, albania, bosnia, morocco, nigeria, Russia etc.

Sorry to offend you Salsera, I was just sick of hearing everybody talk about the terrorist talk. These are common stereotypes that people assume. So I answered the question. Maybe I should have not said slutty. I just wanted to increase the peace by letting people know that your worst fear of middleeastern people should be their driving habits not terrorism. I had a good time in Dubai, Kuwait, Baghdad, and Qatar.

My message is this :


Not all middle easterns are terrorists and fundimental muslims extremist. A lot of them are sexcrazied drunks who love fast cars and prostitution just like us Americans. check out Dubai and Las Vegas.

I agree, there is a lot of racism against Arabs in this country and I think a lot of it is top down. I think the current administration wants us to fear Arabs because it gives them a free hand in enacting policy in the mid-east. Do you think we could have invaded Iraq without a large base of people who hate Arabs and just want to "nuke the middle-east?" When I was in the army I knew a lot of guys who joined up just to have an opportunity to "waste a camel jockey." I think it's sad, the Arabs I know are good, decent people and to answer your question no, I don't assume terrorist when I see Arabs.

Ya, I have to agree with the first poster....it is really sad to see people thrown into the terrorist category because they are from the Middle East. It is absolutely horrible that some people could do these horrible things in the name of something that disagrees with their actions.

When I see Middle Eastern people that are Muslim marching in the streets denouncing terrorism and saying down with Hamas, Hezbollah, Al Quada, and other terrorists groups, then I might trust them more, I no that all are not terrorists, but the so called nice Muslims do nothing, they don't speak out against any of these people. they set in their homes and go to their Mosques and do nothing. So I tend to think that under their breath that they agree with what is going on. I think they are cowards.

first off there is racism everywhere about everyone, second - It depends on where you are , Middle eastern people are people..just like you and me, we all bleed the same, Its the sad extremists that cause this problem. It only takes a nut to grow into a tree.....All racism is bred out of those few from every group who are deemed extremists that cause the race to be shunned.....

NO WAY. I don't think all the Middle eastern are terrorists. I just think Its sad they walk around with so much hate. Maybe due to no education. And the religion helps. Of course not all Muslims are hatefull bast**ards. But most are. Look at the way they treat their own kind. How should any one expect anything better..
