Similar roots, so, naturally the modern versions will have similarities.
Those who speak Spanish, Italian, French or any of romance languages can clearly see the similarities to their roots in ancient Latin.
If it weren't for world wide mass communication, we would eventually see a wider rift between British English and American English.

this is because modern hebrew did not exist 65 years ago. it was invented by eliazar ben yehuda. he began with a basis of all the words in the torah but that was not enough. many words had to be adapted from other languages or even made up. also since israel is a melting pot of jews from all over the world many languages get mixed. lastly, arabic is the language of the surrounding countries and since hebrew is still a language that is forming many words get mixed in.
