Accepting Jesus is a great start. Read the Bible and follow his teachings. God bless.

These are the basic beliefs of Christianity:

God
1. There is one living, sovereign God who eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Revelation 1:8
Isaiah 43:10-11
Deuteronomy 6:4
Matthew 28:19

2. Jesus was sent by the Father to live on earth; he was fully God and fully human, yet had no sin. Jesus willingly laid down his life and after three days, rose from the grave. In doing this, Jesus fulfilled the payment for the world's debt of sin.
Luke 1:31,35
1 Corinthians 15:3
2 Corinthians 5:21

3. The Holy Spirit was sent by the Father and Son to convict the world of sin and to empower all who believe in Jesus Christ. He lives in every believer and is a constant helper, Teacher and guide.
John 14:16-17

People
4. God created people in his image, and everyone matters to God.
Genesis 1:26-27
Genesis 5:1-2

5. All people are sinners and need God's forgiveness.
Romans 3:23

6. Those who confess and turn from their sin, trusting in Jesus Christ, will be saved by grace and become children of God, with the promise of eternal life.
John 3:16-17
Galatians 3:26

The Church, The Bible and Christ's Return
7. Jesus Christ is the head of the church and all believing people are members.
Ephesians 4:15-16

8. The Bible is the inspired Word of God and is the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
2 Timothy 3:16-17

9. Jesus Christ will return and there will be a final judgment.
Matthew 24:3,37

To be a Christian, you have to believe in God, the Adam and Eve story on how sin started, believe that Jesus is the Son of God and came down to earth, lived a sinless life, and died on the cross for everyone's sins, and you need to sincerely pray to Jesus and ask Him to be your savior, and do your best to live like a Christian. That, I believe, covers everything, and are the basics of Christianity.

I am very happy for you. You can pray to the Holy Spirit for the gifts of wisdom and knowledge so that He may lead you in the right direction. If you want to become a Catholic , which was the first Christian religion, then you would take classes. You would find a Church and speak to the pastor. Then you would learn about baptism and make your first Holy Communion so that you could receive the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist at church on Sundays. Believing in Christ is the first step. Then you have read and ask and so you are on the right track. Good luck!

Turn back now!!!!! You don't need any man-made false mythologies to follow. Accept you don't know the true nature of the universe and that others don't either. Be on a journey of discovery, don't just jump to the end of the journey and say I will believe what you believe.

It's all BS, ALL OF IT... The only truth out there is that I don't know the true nature of the universe and either do you....

SEE - Did you notice what iamsupermanurnot wrote, "It's the faith that is important. Good deeds won't save you." WHY would you possible want to adhere to a religion that cares more about what you believe, then your actions? Say, as outlandish as it is, that that is true could you even respect a God that would want you to believe that. Shouldn't god care more about what you do then what you say? Do you have any friends that aren't christian? If you do are you comfortable with believing that they will suffer eternal damnation and suffering in hell?

They are selling this BS and you are buying. Don't do it, save yourself before this cult takes over your life... I fear for you....

Just follow your heart.
Why do you want to be a Christian ? Why do you want to follow some words writen by other men, to follow their rules ?
I believe in god, but I'm not Christian.
I believe that god is love, that god is in all living things, a bird, an apple, a cat, a human...
Make your own beliefs, don't follow the ones other people wrote for you. Be yourself.

I would imagine that there are almost as many answers to this question as there are Christians. But, be wary of answers that suggest you are required to follow some certain rule to "be Christian". The truth of it is that believing in Christ as the Son of God, and as your Savior because of his crusifiction, makes you a Christian.
Any further actions on your part, or doctrine studied by you are a matter of preference. No one form of Christianity is "correct", and the Grace of God will always be available to you as you continue to believe in Jesus.

Many Blessings!!

As with Abraham, our faith is counted to us as being righteous. While there are many different Christian traditions (baptism, communion, etc.) they are symbols of faith, not the faith itself. I love that you have faith in Jesus as the Son of God. It has set you apart already. The moment you sincerely accepted Christ (whether it was a conscious thought or not, it can often just be a yearning), you were baptised in to Christ through the Spirit of God. I recommend that you attend church, and take part with us in fellowship and the symbols of our faith, but whether or not you do that does not dictate your status as a Christian, and therefore a Saint of God.

Well, you got the first part done, FAITH!
Now, Action to confirm such FAITH is not wasted.
Baptized is a must!
Then from there, through your FAITH, let the new you shine forth! And be prepared for public troubles, just a Christian Path, but one too which are numerous rewards!!! Read the book of Proverbs! Sentence by sentence, and you will be surprised what you will discover :)

Turning your life over to Jesus techincally would make you a Christian. Different Christian faiths (Baptist, Lutheran, Catholic) have different ceremonies or sacraments that you may participate in as a symbol of your deepening relationship with Christ, but once you say you believe, technically, you're in!!
