when i am single (like now) i am a free agent, do what i want, go where i want when i want. but i get really lonely.
when i am with someone i have to take them into consideration in all i do, in case they get upset by my acts and sometimes i hate being with someone and dream of being single again...
which goes back round again to ''free agent, do what i want, go where i want when i want. but i get really lonely''

Hey i'm not being selfish!! the fact that i am single proves that. i don't use people like that, it's wrong.

So be less selfish! If you're with someone you have to think about them, or they'll just get annoyed and leave you. You have to strike a compramise between doing what they want, and what you want - the trick is to find someone who wants the same things as you do, so you have less work to do.

Better to be alone and lonely than laying in bed next to someone and feeling lonely....this is just a terrible feeling.
I guess it comes down to being with someone that allows you a sense of freedom. It's important to feel like an individual even when you are with someone.
You certainly don't want to go into a relationship if it's to avoid loneliness, being with someone will not guarantee this. Having to be with someone should red flag you to the fact that you need to work on why you can't be a health functioning adult that can do things without a companion.

This sounds cliched but you really haven't met the right person yet. When you're with someone more compatible, you won't be as touchy around the other person and you can achieve a more mutual happiness instead of having to take time out to consider what makes them happy. I would enjoy being single because you sound like a sensitive person so love is probably round the corner for you. I would enjoy your freedom whilst you still have it - so being alone is better than being with the wrong person.

You just need to find a person that is right fit for you and things will work out. You really have to try to give a relationship some time to develop and see where it goes. You might want to let them know upfront the things you like to do and what kind of person you are so you can have some freedom and it will decrease the likelihood of them getting up upset if they stick around.

I lived with someone for 10 years, Ive been single for 3 years and I reckon it will be a long time before I live with anyone again! Im not bitter or anything but the pleasure of doing what you want, when you want ,with whoever you want still hasnt worn off.

When you find the right person, there's no loss of freedom. You realize that you're not refusing to flirt with other girls or act like a loner out of concern for her-- the truth is, because of her, you simply no longer want to. For years I hated being tied down by girlfriends (I mean that figuratively; it's great literally), but after dating my current girlfriend for a while, I realized that I had all the space I needed, all the emotional, romantic, and sexual fulfillment I could ask for, and that I could be myself around her without smashing her feelings or ruining her opinion of me.
It sounds like you're spending too much time with girls you're not really interested in or compatible with.

I always thought that being single was better than being in the wrong relationship. Loneliness when single isn't a good reason for a relationship...
But when the right relationship comes along, there's no question. Being in the relationship wins every time.

well i think being with someone is better because am a girl and i feel more protected and love getting a hug or a kiss when i need one! I think you are probz better off without anyone cause i don't think you like the fact you have to take them into consideration.

You know something, I think I have the best of both worlds, I am on my own through the week and have my husband with me from Friday night until early Tuesday Morning when he flies back to the UK to work, and I live in Spain, so I think I am a very lucky girl, don't u?

I guess when you're a free agent, you want to be with someone, but when you're with someone, you want to be an agent. I think it's better to have a girlfriend, only because I think lonliness is the worst.
