I cut myself and I'm afraid to tell my parents. What if they don't accept me? My sister told my parnts she wanted to kill herself and put her in a crazy house. I really don't want to go there and I don't to hurt myself anymore. I'm so scared that they'll hate me or disown me. What I'm going to do? I'm afraid if I cut myself one more time, I might bleed to death.

If you aren't comfortable telling your parents, seek another adult that you really trust, such as a school counselor or a favorite teacher. Maybe even one of your friends could help. If your parents are as bad as you make them sound, I would strongly recommend a school counselor or another adult that you could trust. My advice? Don't keep it all bottled up inside you. Telling anyone you could trust with your life would help. I'd strongly recommend an adult, as they can enroll you into certain mental health programs that can help you, but advice from your peers are also very good. Try to live a happy life. Life is full of opportunities for those who see it. Look at yourself anew and don't think about death - for in death you cannot experience anything that you missed you you're alive.

It sounds like your parents aren't so bad. Would you rather have your sister dead? They probably saved her life. You need to tell your parents. If they respond in a negative way, then get in touch with a crisis hotline. Campy, right? Not so. If you are cutting, there is a very good reason behind it. You definitely need to consider a therapist. If the only reason you do, you will be able to get all those negative feelings off your mind. Again, Tell Your Parents or someone. Don't let the feelings eat you up inside.

I'm 14 and in my school there is tons of that going on. Did you stop cutting yourself, or do you still? If so, then tell your parents at the correct time. But before you do ask them if they would think your a freak or crazy if you did something bad. Then tell them. Insist on telling them that you aren't crazy and don't need a crazy house. Just you want their help. Now if you did stop, tell them in that same process, but tell them that you stopped. Let them you know you just want them to help you, and not the crazy house (lol). Hopefully I helped!

I work with teens and know what you are going thru because I have seen the cuttings you are talking about. If you feel uncomfortable telling your parents, talk to your school guidance counselor or nurse about it and they can help you get the help you need. Do you have a teen suicide hotline in your area? If so, contact them and you can talk to someone, especially if you feel like hurting yourself again. In the long run, you will have to let your parents know because they are the ones who should protect you and help you through the difficult time you are going through right now.

try stopping the cutting. dont worry i dont think your a freak asnd i wont ever call anyone that. i dont think your parents would be so drastic as to disown you but you might want to put off telling them if they reacted that badly to your sister. justr kind of slip it into conversations easily and do go to fast dropping the news qwhen you finally decide to tell them.

here is a site that gives information, and also offers a self-help section:
http://www.palace.net/~llama/psych/fself.html
a search engine will bring you up many more sites where survivors of self-abuse and those who love and care for them have built resources designed to help you. just put in "self-abuse cutting"
it would be best if you can find some responsible adult you can trust who can help and provide support while you learn how to overcome this.
best wishes for your recovery!
