Would you want to attend boarding school?

Question

For those of you who are at one, what is it like? Do you like it?

I'm talking more about a boarding school for students who are very advanced and want a better education than their local high school or private schools can provide.

Any recommendations?

Yes, I would love to go to boarding school. I actually think educational situations like this really produce more focused students.

okay well personally, i know some people who go to boarding schools and they bascially say that its a place where everybody sells drugs and has sex and they usually are really rich so they don't really care about their marks. they just go there because their parents want to be rid of them. There are also the people though, that are really smart and they either want something different and a little harder or they are being made fun of for some sort of reason.

There are schools that are way better, in my opinion. There are private schools (that are usually christian) and they have small class sizes and you can get lots of help from them.
There are also some public schools that are not as big that have a lot of different cool programs. Like I am involved in a thing called the baccalorette program and it is international and you have to be smart and you can get into any college or university you want.
So...if you are looking for a new school or w/e, look around, not just at boarding schools because they are not the best choice.
If you did want to go to a boarding school, you would probably want to go to one in europe or maybe even quebec, canada because those are the best boarding schools there is. there are not to many good ones in north america.

Alot of the time the education at boarding schools isn't all that much better than public school, atleast until you get into grade 11 and 12, but grade 11 is the hardest year at many of the schools, and most people who enter (as a boarder atleast) in grade 11 don't come back for grade 12. In my opinion you're more paying for the reputation of a school: in alot of cases, just a school name on a transcript can get you into a better university (getting the same marks as you would have in a public school, mind you): than you are paying for the actual education. (I attend boarding school)

I was going to go - but my mother didnt like the fact I would be in a private boarding school and they were on the other side of the world.

As a male I would love to attend an all girls boarding school, as for an all male boarding school...not so much.

If you don't have a very good home life, or you like being on your own, this is good for you. If you want a better education, and your parents can afford it, this is good for you. My son went to a boarding school for one year, he liked it well enough, and got good grades, but he just missed being home too much. He asked to go to one....and I let him.....then he asked to come home...and I let him....

I went to a boarding school and it helps those who need help and what not but seriously your own social life pretty much sucks when you come home.

a lot of my friends go to boarding school, but they dont really care otherwise.

i wouldnt want to because the high school in my area is one of the top in the state/ nation

i recomend a school called st trinians
i attended it and it was great we made gin in the basementr
no seriously i wouldnt go there, yall get ya head flushed down the toilet, be invaided by the 6th formers
seriously it is safer to just go and smoke dope in y ou r local school
