This is very normal. They explore their bodies, and begin identifying parts of their bodies, and how they feel and look.
You are doing the right thing by giving her toys, but don't make a big fuss about her putting her hands there; the more of a fuss you make, the more "attractive" it becomes to put her hands there. Maybe singing "Patty cake" to her, to encourage her to clap her hands, or playing some sort of game that she has to use her hands for (peek a boo maybe?).
Good luck!

This is quite normal behavior. Children don't have the hang ups we as adults do about our bodies. Please don't make a big deal about it. You want a child that is a healthy well adjusted emotional being... not a basket case and all mixed up about "down there", right? This may mean you yourself letting go of some unhealthy feelings about the genital area. Suggestion: read as much as you can and get expert unbiased advice on the subject. As a young mother of twins, I didn't know what to expect with my son or my daughter for that matter when it came to sex. So I went to the library and checked out age appropriate books and you know what...I learned alot. And so did they. I also learned that I didn't need to freak out. When they were ready they'd ask questions. Until then it was on the back burner.

Pee diapers must be left once you've a 12 hour evening diaper for her bum. Will shop her a lot extra dry. Have a good protector cream on. Poopy bums might want to get replaced without delay. This also relies upon on the age. below 6 months they might want to be monitored at feedings and tended to at the same time as waking up each and every time. it is their organic protection adversarial to sids and they favor to do the feedings at evening nevertheless. do not problem too a lot you receives your sleep ultimately. the first twelve months or 2 must be complicated with evening wakings yet you'll omit it at the same time as they are 30 and do not opt to cuddle you at 4am anymore haha!

My 8 month old daughter does that too. Although, I don't think it's b/c she's discovered them, I think b/c it probably itches from being suffocated all day and night from the diaper. What I do, is kinda open her legs and before I unfold the new diaper, I kind of use it as a fan on her and let it 'air out' a minute before I put it on her. She just loves it! I mean, I can relate, mine needs air too!

This is very normal and nothing for you to be concerned about. Eventually, like in a year or two, she'll need to learn that she should touch herself like this only in private, but it's not an issue while she's still in diapers, since she can't touch herself when she's wearing a diaper.

Hang a mobile above the changing table.
Have toys that are reserved for ONLY playing with during diaper changes.
Give her a wet and squishy baby wipe to play with.
Sing to her while you change her.
Try changing wet diapers with her standing up.
Try playing peek-a-boo with her while you change her.

This is just a natural response and if you teach her it is bad you will have problems potty training and can cause serious psycological damage in the future. Just make sure you clean her hands before you proceed to change her to make sure there are no residues left to cause infections.

If you try stopping her, she'll think she's doing something wrong, when in reality, she isn't. She's just exploring and learning the parts of her body. Let her. If it's a cleanliness issue, clean her hands when you're done, and there's no problem.

Nothing you can really do about it, other than just keep doing what you're doing. She'll eventually grow out of it, she's just learning that there's something down there.
If she's poopy and you can't control her hands... sit on the floor with her, lay her between your legs, and gently lay your legs on top of her arms. (Make sense?) I had to do this quite often to my kids, it really helped so that I didn't have to deal with messy hands.
