not really, i live in an Asian country where many people like America...but you couldn't tell by the BBC and American media with their anti-American attitude on all the news channels that this country receives...and are forced fed by them...i can't stand to watch the English news anymore...by the way...i am an American...you know what they say...the squeaky wheel gets the oil...so don't believe all you hear about America...you only hear from the radicals...and the propaganda...

I think this hatred issue is more of a complex than a reality. There's obviously people against American ideals, but it's wrong to generalize and say the world is against you, cause it's not. I think the problem many Americans have is they are too self centered and make it all about them.
I'm not American, and personally I have nothing against the United States. You guys have many things to be admired for, as well as many others to be judged for. But, doesn't that apply for every other country in the world? I believe it does.

We are not hated all over the world. We can hardly keep people out. Other countries need to build walls to keep people in, or their people try to come here. You don't see millions of people heading for Mexico, the Middle east, China, Russia, Korea or any of the other countries that say they hate us. If anything they are so jealous, they just want to destroy what they can't have.

To be honest with you, it's not that you are hated, you are just tolerated.
You (not all of you, I'm trying not to stereotype) seem to have this superiority complex. You seem to think that anyone who speaks a foreign language is a terrorist, seem to think that you are the only country in the world that has been prey to a terrorist attack, and that for some reason anywhere past the 49th parallel is a barren frozen wasteland, with polar bears wandering the streets. I'm not trying to be rude or mean, but other countries and cultures exist outside of the US that know more about you, than you would ever think to learn about us.
When travelling, if anyone thought I was American I would be brushed off, and actually treated rudely.
You have a president that is taking up someone else's vendetta (mainly his fathers), and you all seem to think this is acceptable. Whatever happened to the hunt for Osama Bin Laden? Bush seems to have been sidetracked, funny since he's business partners with the Bin Laden family.
You have voted this man in as your president, and as a representative for your country. The nations leader is a representative for your nation, he is the one who is also giving the US a bad name.
Anyways, I just wanted to give my 2 cents. Not trying to cheese anyone off.

In general no. Other governments hate us and other people hate our government. Even leaders of Hezbollah said that they like the American people it is just the government they don't like, that we are the greatest country but we could be better if our government fixed their problems. What people don't like about Americans is the bad attitudes that some Americans display and our lack of self discipline to stop going to McDonald's.

How is anyone suppose to answer this? No one person has been to all places in the world, and Americans answering this question are going to be clouded by media interpretation/bias. Does it really matter?

We are, in a lot of places and with good reason. We tend to be loud, over-opinionated, obnoxious, fat, lazy and can't seem to mind our own business. We're self-centered, think we're never wrong and believe that we're better than the average human. Wouldn't you hate that kind of person too?
