couldn't exercise due to a lung problem
here's how I did it:
First and formost - NEVER COUNTED CALORIES!! Counting cals makes me obsess on food.
Cut back 2 regular sodas a day
Took no cheese on my burgers or sandwiches
Used diet salad dressing
Used mustard instead of mayo
Learned to love skim milk and yogurt
Not a water drinker, but I added 4 cups of water to my regimen
Stopped eating after 8pm
DID NOT deprive myself of a goodie/treat when I wanted one, but would cancel something else out if I did (ie If I had 2 cookies, I couldn't have a serving of potato chips later)
I also added two fruits servings to each day
I really ate constantly, but consciously... it was NOT a diet, it was a life style change. And I did something I could live with, so I have NOT gained the weight back. I went from 170 lb (at 5'1) to 110lbs (size 18 to size 3).
I know this is all little stuff and the speed at which I did it was very slow, but it did work for me...and I am so happy. Good luck with whatever way you achieve your goal. :)

I lost over 20 kilos(40 pounds) within 3 months, by cutting down on fright food and fat cheese and selecting fish and chicken and yogurt of 2% fat. Of course I am still taking a lot of Vitamines, especially C, D, Bcomplex, E, FISHOIL, and Q10. But you must have a Dr. do a blood analysis on U to know your needs for Vitamines and Minerals as well!
Lot of walking, some jogging,and some slight work out should help!
But a significant factor is your age and your bodie's standing as well!!!!

One time i lost 20 pounds from just eating lettuce with turkey and mustard, and i don't eat after 7 o'clock p.m., but see the thing is you can lose as much weight as you can, but its all just water weight, its the fat and muscle that you have to exercise really hard to lose and its hard. But if you do all those at the same time, then you'll be good in no time. And i lost that 20 pounds in like two weeks, but i still look the same. Maybe like three inches or five off my stomach, because my pants got looser. Oh yeah, drink only water or diet soda, the new pepsi wild cherry diet, taste really good.

Yes, I lost about 60 pounds in about 4 months. I cut out as many preservatives as possible from my diet, walked daily (not hard-core or anything), swam a few times a week, sometimes rode a stationary bike, and took vitamin supplements to help boost my metabolism and get my body on track. Toxins accumulate in your body and encourage it to hold onto the fat, so the vitamins are really necessary.
I took care of myself so much, my body decided to get pregnant, so now I am gaining baby weight..sighhhh..oh well, if I lost weight before, I can do it again..

I think pregnancy weight would count as significant. A 1200 calorie diet, water, and exercise. I lost on average 2 lbs per week.

Strep throat! in two days I lost 6lbs! I can't complain. I weighed 135 and now 129. It took 2 days of not being able to get out of bed or eat or drink and a fever of 101! My way of thinking is a work out is like that just not as fast.

Slimfast twice a day, salads and yogurt for supper... exercise 20 minutes per day every day... stretches/tummy exercises, the whole nine yards. Got outside and found excuses to be active.
I lost 70 lbs in about 6 months.

well,,,,i lost fat and gain muscle
i had to,,,,,thats what happen if u join wrestling
i used to be 6'0, 180.....now i am 6'2, 170
and still growing muscle
honestly, i just ate a lil less than usually
and less fat food.....but i still dranked and ate soda, chipz and other crap (not as many as i usually do)
i just lost weight for exercising like atleast 3 hrs a day
well now that is summer....i tihnk i gain some wight
but i doesnt matter cuz wrestling season will start soon and they will mkae us lose weight and gain more muscle
what i am saying is that u should join wrestling =)
