Since you're ringing the bell to signify the start of the ceremony and not to tell your guests the time, ring it as many or as few times as you please! Besides, what happens if you're running 5 minutes late?

Personally, I'd ring it like crazy at the END of the ceremony! CONGRATS!

Change the time of the wedding, or ring it 6 1/2 times.

Well, it is fine. However, you should do the traditional chime. Do-do-doo-do, do-do-doo-do. Listen to an old bell tower and you'll get it. Don't ring the bell 6 times, that is only done on the hour.

Congrats and good Luck!

I wouldn't ring the bell before the wedding I'd ring it after to let everyone know that you were just married.and tell everyone when the wedding starts by putting it in you're invitation. good luck

There were 2 bell ringers at my cousin's wedding who said something like "Hear ye, hear ye, here comes the bride!" They said it over and over as they rang their bells and walked around the guests- across the back and up the sides. Then "Here Comes The Bride" started playing. After the ceramony they rang the bells again and said "Hear ye, hear ye, Mr. and Mrs......"
