He makes about 100k per year and is taxed at about 30%. I make about 60K per year and file as head of household and have two of my own children and get taxed at about 15%. We live separately in Calif. We could also move in together.

Marriage is a serious commitment and is not based on tax liability. Wake up. Would you crawl behind my car sucking the exhaust pipe if I could save you another $5?

It would very likely save the two of you something in taxes. But I'd be hard pressed to think of a worse reason to get married.

Marriage is probably going to cost you more in the long run. Getting married to save on taxes is not the best means to join the institution...you dig?
