I agree! Bing in a lesbian relationship, I would love to have the the option to marry the woman i love! I think people need to open their eyes and their hearts and learn to except whats happening around them. I think the world would be more peaceful if people could be who they want and not have to worry about what others say! Be happy be married!

What about em? I think they're marriages. They just happen to be between two people of the same sex. Nothing more, nothing less.

To lovemysunshine: Marriage is sacred? Heterosexuals have made a complete mockery out of marriage! Let gays have at it. Maybe they can get it right, because lord knows, we sure can't! Or did you not notice the 50% divorce rate? Or did you not know, that more Christians/Jews get divorces than atheists and agnostics? Apparently, the god lovers don't hold it in as high a regard as they claim!

Tiffylea: Maybe if gay marriage was allowed, that wouldn't have happened!

You know what marriage is? It's just a little certificate saying that two individuals have now pledged to become a family regardless of what happens.

No where does it say that a marriage needs to consist of a man and woman. If you take the Bible literally, then we're not supposed to eat ribs either because you know, ribs came from Adam. Christians can't use the Bible as an umbrella just to protect them from what they don't know. And *gasp* I'm a Christian!

I believe that marriage is a beautiful, beautiful thing. A homosexual marriage consists of two people in love with each other. A heterosexual marriage consists of two people in love with each other. Hmmmmmmmmm...

The supreme court of Virginia (or North Carolina?) stated that it's illegal for the government to rule over the personal lifestyles and relationships of citizens. It was in reference to a law forbidding co-habitation. However, it's homosexuality a persona lifestyle as well?

Personally, I am all for homosexual marriages. Homosexuals aren't going to raise the divorce rate, aren't pedophiles, and aren't going to pervert their children. Homosexuality is not a disease. It's a lifestyle. It is a part of a person and cannot be treated as an illness or an adiction.

I say, let them marry!

Oh and I am a Christian. I am heterosexual. And I believe that God is a God of everyone, not just heterosexuals. Not just Americans. Everyone. There was no clause at the bottom of the Bible saying: "limited love."

I appreciate Theresa's answer. I personally support it. But to those who don't I have this to say, the protest against gay marriages is a form of discrimination hiding behind the Bible. As was the discrimination against women and blacks (read your history ladies and gentleman). This is nothing but another social issue that we will look back upon in disgust 100 years down the road. Even if it is not your personal choice, you do not have the right to inflict your moral opposition against a loving couple. Every gay and lesbian couple I have met is happier and more devoted to each other than 90% of the hetero couples I have seen. You don't have to celebrate it, but at least tolerate it.

This is a very tough question. As a Christan I know that gay marriage is wrong..marriage is for a man and a women. Therfore, I do not believe in same sex marriage.
But it's very hard for me to say to persons in these relationships they can't get married. Just b/c I believe it's wrong doesn't give me the right to tell someone they cannot do it.

I once knew someone who used to head on about how a lot of a christian she became, criticised abortion, criticised people for being gay. She then had an affair with a married guy, were given pregnant by technique of him, and left her own husband and set up domicile with the guy she were slumbering with.. a sturdy party of how some people are very sturdy at criticising others, yet unexpectedly ignore the bible at the same time as it includes their own existence. i imagine that, as some different person stated, people favor to resign judging others and seem at their own behaviour rather..

I'm all for it. You should be able to marry the most significant person in your life if you want to. There are a lot of benefits that come with marriage, like the right to make medical decisions, inheritance rights, retirement benefits etc. There's no reason that gays should be locked out of that.

i agree. I think that if two people want to get married they should be able to. I dont think that anyone has the right to say that they cant. The only person who has a right to say anything about it is God and they are wrong for being together then they have to answer for it when they die.

I think it is wrong. Marriage is between a man and a woman. that is the way it has always been that is the way it should be.
First off it is wrong to be gay. It is a lifestyle that they have chosen for them selves. If they want to marry or have kids they need to be normal & marry the oppisite sex.

I honestly believe that Marriage is a Godly union between a man and a woman for the purpose of companionship and to produce offspring.

So, no I don't believe in same sex marriage.

Same sex relationships get more privileges then heterosexual couples do. For example...at a job I had same sex couples could be on health insurance together and benefits, while heterosexual couples could not. I think that is a bunch of bull.

GAY MARRIAGE IS JUST AS WRONG AS POLYGAMY...AND IT IS ILLEGAL!!! HOMOSEXUALITY AS A WHOLE HAS GOTTEN TO MUCH ATTENTION AND IS PARTIALLY RESPONSIBLY FOR THE BASIC MORAL BREAK DOWN IN OUR SOCIETY!!
