its a short haired cat, we feed it a canned meal in the evening but i give it a small handful of dried feed as a snack during the day. None of our other cats behave this way.

I have a cat that has done this. Mine does it because he eats too quickly and the whole amount of food just sticks in his throat. He gobbles the food so fast that he can't keep it in his throat so he spews it out. I feed him smaller amounts now......could be the same for your fave cat? P.S. I love cats. they are fab!!

I asked this about my cat, too. You can read my answers I got, but most say "take it to the vet" in some form or another. I figure I just have a cat that pukes. I feed her smaller amounts now, (couple spoons at a time) and let her eat it, then give a couple more for later. It has been helping reduce the vomiting greatly. I just make sure there is always a little food in her bowl all day, so she isn't hungry.

I have a kitten (she's 7 now, always a kitten) who pukes on occasion. She dehydrates herself, scoffs her dried food and pukes. It can be a number of things: hair balls (stroke your cat lots to remove hair before he/she licks it off), the wrong type of food (cats can be fussy but for a reason - try several dried products) OR over-feeding/dehydration (leave less food but constantly supply clean fresh water so he/she drinks more. Ultimately, seek advice from a vet. Good luck.

My cat has an similar difficulty! i am going to't stand cat puke! nicely, I took him to the vet, we had blood artwork carried out and any style of try shall we. We found he merely had an particularly tender abdomen. If there are any differences in his weight-help plan, he will puke. The vet switched his nutrition to TD with duck and pea, we actually have tablets that we provide him. My cat is 15 lbs. and he's meant to have a million/2 cup of dry nutrition an afternoon and a million/4 can of moist nutrition an afternoon. in case you could't bypass to the vet then merely positioned him on a strict weight-help plan and per chance purchase him the tablets if he nonetheless pukes. also, technology weight-help plan tender abdomen is giant. He may no longer be in a position to digest the nutrition you provide him ok. reliable success!

try feeding smaller amounts and don't switch foods. Just switching a brand of foods can upset her stomach so start by mixing in the dry food into her canned food and give it in small amounts so she doesnt east to fast. Just mix a small amount of the food to begin with into the canned and increase it steadily until you can switch her completely to the dry. Or feeding seperately(whichever your plan is). Try a brand of dry food that prevents hairballs also just incase it is hairballs. if this doesnt work I would take it to the vet. Also make sure theres nothing your cat could be getting into that could make it sick. Good Luck!

There may be a couple of reasons, but I'm thinking your cat is use to wet food, which means the cat is not getting enough water into itself from the dry food. The cat gets dehydrated and the body reacts and pukes.

Your cat can possibly have worms. Have you checked the vomit or feces or around the anus area? There are different types of worms that live in different parts of the cat during different stages of the worm's life. Roundworms are a common reason for cats to continuously vomit. If you find any signs of worms, get some medicine from the vet. I give my cats worm medicine about every 3 months. It's cheap from the vet...$10 for 2 cats for 2 doses ($5 for 2 doses for each cat).

You could take your cat to the vet, and have him tested for diabetes and allergies. My cat had allergies to sheba cat food, and some generic stuff I had, he could only have crave and whiskas.

My aunts cat had diabetes and he had to take an insulin shot once a day.

Also, instead of buying expensive hair ball cream to feed your cat, you can put a glob of vasaline on your finger and let the cat lick it off, or slide it on the roof of his mouth and he will be forced to lick it. And, make sure you brush him once a day too.

i think you are giving it too much food at night, instead of giving it dried food all day, try a small amount of dried food mixed with a quarter of a tin , do this two to three times a day, make sure water is always there, your cat should adapt to that, too much food at night makes anyone ill, hope your cat will be fine!

My six year old cat started throwing up more than normal. It used to be the occasional fur ball. I took him to the vet and discovered he was in the beginning of renal failure. I.m not saying that, that is the case with your cat but just get him checked out, only to put your own mind at rest.
