I have this problem too. Get more excercise and work in so that when it's time for you to go to bed then you'll be exhausted and ready to sleep. Also, don't sleep in too late, eat right before bed (or 3-4 hours of), leave the t.v. on, ect. When it's time for you to go to sleep, have everything off (except for clocks, leave those turned away from your sight. It does help) and just doze off. If you're one of those people that think so much when they're sleeping that they can't sleep then you can turn some relaxing music on. Try one of those cd's that has nature sounds, or you can also try lighting some candles before you go to sleep (make sure you blow them out at least 15 minutes before you sleep!). Something that I do to help me fall alseep is to think about what I would like to dream about (or day-dreaming...uhh at night lol).

These are just some things, but I do hope it helps!

Cheesepolp,
I feel that you must be taking life too easy. Do you know that a man went up and was placed on a swinging bed for years and years and years with all creature comforts provided on bed.He got disgusted with it and asked the angel could he have some work to do. Angel expressed his inability to provide it.'Then I would prefer to go to Hell!"Cried the man with anguish."But you are in Hell all these years,My dear Soul"Replied the Angel.

You must be thinking that you are enjoying life all the way and now the Angel has spoken to you

So get up and start doing back-breaking work. You will soon find that you can sleep in a standing position as well. You will never know when the Angel of Sleep will lull you to sleep. At more than the biblical span of human age(three score and ten) I never had any problem, not even when there were yawning personal and offficial problems. In fact, sleep helped me in solving these problems when I was with her, fearing perhaps if she would not do it I may not return to her so regularly. The work may be any work but it should be physical(mental work only takes away sleep e.g. worry). The counting of sheep, taking hot baths, drinking hot milk etc.nothing is necessary and in fact may disturb your sleeping mode.Happy sleep.

i used to really have sleeping problems and i found it was because there were always thoughts of everything running through my head. i found once those thoughts stated if i got outta bed wrote down what i was thinking and went back to bed it helped. also i noticed everytime i looked at the clock i got a little madder and that kept me up. saying things like great now i am going to only hav 5 hours sleep... 4hours..3...2 that was keeping me up so try turning your clock around so you cant see it in the night and accept the fact that you'll be tired the next day when ever i just accept it i fall asleep right away

I can't say this is sure-fire, but here are things that might help:

Read a book for about 15 minutes to an hour before you go to bed.

Play soft, soothing music. Let yourself wind down.

Drink a cup of hot tea: Preferably, something with chamomile in it.

Make sure your room is neither too hot nor too cold: Both can interfere with or even prevent sleep.

If your mattress is starting to break down, get a new one: It's hard to sleep when one isn't comfortable.

Good luck!

Dear cheesy, I'm sorry your having sleeping problems, when I wan't to go to sleep, I usually, go running or do something fun to take my mind off of the trouble. Then I take a bath and lay down and watch t.v. Then I get so comfy, that it's hard not to fall asleep. Or try watching star wars, pfeww, I can't stay up five minutes watching that movie!

Never eat or drink something sweet before you go to bed. Besides coffee/tea that keep you awake, sugar does not let you sleep well.

Also you can eat tomato that helps disappear high sugar level in you blood.

Suppose you don't have any stress. The above work with me very well.

Eat turkey or drink warm milk. The triptophans are natural relaxants.
If that doesn't work, read a book - and don't be afraid to doze off with the lights on.

Well, I would recommend seeing a sleep doctor. After all, one saved my life, I'm sure it won't hurt you to see one as well. I'd go to a professional rather than asking these 'doctor wannabe's' who are not real doctors but who've stayed in a Holiday Inn Express one time.

I always found soothing music and a hot bubble bath to work.
