Sounds like when you had your computer repaired, someone couldn't get Home Edition to boot so installed a copy of XP Pro over the top of it. I would very much doubt that some kind soul would install a genuine copy of XP Pro with your own licence on your system just to get it working, so it sounds like a non-genuine copy of XP Pro anyhow, so you may as well format down your drive and re-install your original copy of Home Edition anyway.

I have a non-genuine copy of XP Pro here just to be able to get duff machines to boot into life once I have had to changed the hard drive/motherboards etc.

Then I give the machine back to the owner and tell them to load on their own copy of XP unless they want me to re-install it for them.

Once you have Pro on, downgrading to Home Edition is just not possible.

i recommend staying with XP profesional, why do you want to go back to home edition

the only diffrent you have from on and another is that Home edition has 70X what XP profesional has or do is the reall thing it has

if you are having problems with XP profesional ask me i will help you

and if you still wants to continue, i recommend making a fresh installation, doing format (it means deleting all your hard disk where your windows installation is if you dont have a partition configure)

You can't downgrade from Professional to Home without a complete re-installation of Home, which would wipe your hard drive.

You'd have to boot your PC using the Home CD and follow the setup through, formatting your hard drive and installing Home.

I wouldn't recommend downgrading to anyone though.

you could always get another hard drive and install to that, with the xp pro hd removed. then set the xp home drive to master so that it boots over xp pro. this will mean your files on xp pro hd will be accessible when using home edition. buy a boot selection program then at start up you can choose to boot into home or pro edition

Why would you want home ed.? You should be happy the technician that repaired your computer installed the much better pro ed. for free!
Leave it alone, or you will end up haveing to take it back to be repared, cause you screwed it up.

in case you go with each thing you want for ordinary use no longer in straightforward words at abode yet contained in the place of work, purchase abode windows XP professional. truly abode version and professional are not that particular from one yet another yet in case you go with more effective functional factors professional is the suited.
