That's a good question. I don't think he is trying to show off, because he would have to be an arrogant prick for that to be the case (I don't think you would be with him for 5 months if he was). I think he is trying to let you know how much he makes to show you that he can be a good provider with a nice income. He just wants you to know that he can take care of you. He wants the relationship to be more serious. This is him taking it to the next level.

It is best not to mind-read, but perhaps he does have romantic intentions toward you and wants to show you that he could be a stable provider. In either case, whether he is a friend or a suitor, I would try to affirm the positive and show appreciation for his openess and respect for the pride he has in working for a living and earning his salary -- both positive attributes! I would not make anything of it. Just continue letting him show you who he is, as long as you enjoy his company and he treats you well. Just make a mental note that maybe this man may be interested in courting you romantically and you can be receptive or not depending on your feelings for him. Good luck!

Maybe he trust you. You have been going out 4 5 months. Was it alot of money? If it was he probly just wanted to show off or he did that so you think he was rich and you'd stay with him.

He is not showing off because it took him 5 months to show you his paycheck. He feels comfortable with you. He also trust you. So don't think otherwise just be happy that he trust's you to that extend.

It depends on the amount of paycheck...if it is quite small, it may mean,he wants you to know he can't afford an expensive girlfriend, but if his paycheck is big, it could mean that he can afford to have a girlfriend and be serious with her. he may also simply want to impress you. were you impressed?

could be several reasons;
-he is happy he finally got his paycheck
-his first paycheck from somewhere he wanted to work at
-it was a lot of money and wanted to show you? (trying to lure u in with money maybe)

He was probably trying to be open with you about his finances. If he was trying to impress you, he would have bragged about it 5 months ago.
Take it as a good sign that he trusts you and wants to have an honest relationship with you.

It depends on how big his paycheck was...if it wasn't bery much, he wants you to think that he is poor and can't pay for much. If it is large, he is trying to impress you. Or, maybe he's trying to get you to show him your paycheck.

If he seemed happy and almost gloating about it he wanted to show off. If he seemed disappointed he wanted to say he doesn't have that much money and to se if you would still like him, plus to test you if your a high maintenence kinda girl.

It's his paycheck my friends show me theres all the time they muct be proud or happy and want you to proud of them and happy for them or maybe he just want to date you and thinks you like money men.
