I'm here sitting at my desk and all of a sudden there is this sharp pain in my fingertip like someone is sticking it with a needle and then smashing it with a rock. 5 seconds later it goes away.. wtf.

Well it can be several things. It got hurt, and you do not rememeber, or an ex girlfriend getting even with a voodoo doll.

It's probably an irritated nerve or carpal tunnel problems which can happen from repetitive movements. Using the computer keyboard and mouse for too long can cause all this type of problem.

i'm so glad it's not just me.
my friend's aunt's mom's (sorry about that) explanation for any kind of pain was, "Growing pains,"
but i seriously have NO clue.

How much caffeine do you drink? That could cause it.
