Each parrot has his own preferred way of bathing - some like to be in the shower with you, some like the squirt bottle misting, and some even like a bowl full of water in the cage. Just keep experimenting and see which he prefers.
My yellow collared macaw actually prefers to jump down into the sink and run around under a slow stream of water - anytime he's on my shoulder and I turn the faucet on to wash my hands or do dishes, he climbs down instantly and starts running around and squawking - he's hilarious to watch!
The temperature you're shooting for is somewhere around room temperature - 75-85 degrees. Make sure that after his bath, he's kept out of drafts until he dries off completely.
Best of luck to you!

Be sure to also turn off the air conditioning. If they get chilled, that's not good. Something you can try if you parrot doesn't particularly like baths (we found out the hard way): Fill up the bird's water bowl with clean room temp water, grab your spray bottle and start vacuuming the floor. Our BF Amazon tends to dunk and try to squeeze into her bowl when the vacuum is going. She gets everything (floor, walls, ceiling, me, dogs, husband) wet and has a blast doing it. So, try turning on the vacuum. Apparently the captive-breds hear the vacuum and think it's a thunderstorm. That's according to our Avian Vet.

Mine likes the water in lukewarm from the sink, or from a spray bottle. If your bird is tropical it will take more baths than birds that aren't.
Most parrots have to get used to the spray bottle (mist gently from above, not directly at them) before you can move up to a real bath. Some parrots will give themselves a bath from a shallow saucer of water.

dont put them fully in water.. you can spray them with a spray bottle with kinda warm/room temperature water... you can also get stands that you can put on the side of the shower and then you can just run the water. for my bird i just fill the sink up about an inch with warm water and then just wipe her down with a damp wash cloth.. but dont ever use cold water....

parrots have preferences ...
my Quakers and Alexandrine's are outside. I just turn on the hose and mist them down. They love it and don't seem to mind the water from the hose. They spred their wings, get down to their water bowl and splash in their while i spray them down. very comical!!
whatever you try on your bird just make sure you observe them and keep them away from drafts.
each bird is an individual
good luck :)
