Thirty pounds in roughly 20 weeks comes out to exactly 1.5 pounds a week. This is possible and highly probability if you do the right things. You have started moving in the right direction that’s good. You say you’re on a strict diet that’s good I guess. What kind of foods are you eating? First of all try not to look at this diet and workout as being strict. You’re just doing what everyone should be doing! Anytime you feel like you are being deprived or you are cheating yourself out of things you want (hostess snack cakes) you are setting yourself up for disaster!
I’ve been a personal trainer for four years and I have dealt with all kinds of people! I found out we can know what to do, we can know how to eat right, we can know how to do all the exercises all with the correct form. But it doesn’t do us any good if we don’t do it. You’re probably saying no joke? Some of the dumbest people I have ever met in my life are in good shape, I am not joking. Why? Because it doesn’t take brains to loose weight and workout it takes determination!
As personal trainer I will stop everything I am doing to talk to someone if they need help have a question, they come in my office we will sit down and I will talk with them about anything that is on their mind. One day I had two mentally handicap people come into my office they were over weight. They were mentally challenged, they were retarded, I am not saying that to be mean they really were. I loved talking to these guys in fact I had more fun with them then I do with normal people. They would ask me questions like, “is it alright if I eat snickers for breakfast and ice-cream for lunch” and they would just laugh.
Why did they laugh? They laughed because they knew the answer to their own questions. The retards knew more about nutrition than “normal people” that came in my office. That makes me wonder who the retards really are?
We make things harder than they are! We worry about things we don’t know about! This is my suggestion don’t worry, you are doing the right things now there is always room for improvement! Don’t buy any stupid quick fix pills that promise fast weight loss! Surround yourself with people who are positive, people who believe in your ability to reach your goals. Set two goals twelve week goals. A goal to shoot for like 24 pounds and a goal you will be satisfied with like 13 pounds. Now you will set yourself up for success because as long as you fall between those two weights within the allotted time you will be happy. Success doesn’t come by a giant leap it comes one step at a time.
Another suggestion is to start working out with weights 3-5 times a week. For additional cardio try interval training.

If you're on a strict diet and you're not cheating (eat no more than 1200 cals a day) and you're exercising 6 days a week for at least 30 mins, you should do okay. Make sure that you work up a good sweat. Drink at least 2 liters of water a day.
The pounds will come off. Be patient. First week or two, you'll lose water, after that, you'll lose fat at 1-2 pounds a week. Some weeks it'll be one, some 3.. but stick with the plan. If it's not working, increase the amount of exercise.

Exercise is what helps me loose weight. The key is basically keeping calories in check. Spinning sounds like a good calorie burner. Try to jog or play sports that make you sweat. Walk during your lunch hour. Watch what you eat and write down everything for a week. Keep track of everthing you eat each day. Read the labels on food items to help keep track of calories and make good choices. If you can, don't eat red meat at all and limit other meats. East fish, vegatables, and fruit. Water-enriched foods!
For motivation, bite the bullet and weigh yourself daily. Set goals for weight loss per week. Try to say get under 200 by a certain date. Also, bet someone $20 or $50 dollars that you can loose more weight than them in a month.
Note sure how old you, what sex, and current weight. That would have helped.

well if you are dieting in a healthy way and exercising regularly then that is all you can do, and doing this will keep the weight off better than a crash diet. It is all about a lifestyle change that isn't too hard for you to keep!
this website has a lot of healthy recipes if you get bored with your current ones:

also I would try mixing up the spinning with a step class or kickboxing to make things less monotonous!

I think I answered a previous question of yours already but my answer stays the same. You are doing great if you are already in spinning class. You just may need to cut your calories or even your carbs. My Nurse recommended the Medifast Diet to me. You eat 5-6 small meals a day and lose weight with little or no exercise. It works fast and it is great and I have lost 25 lbs. so far. You can e-mail me lovejae247@yahoo.com and I will give you the information. I hope this helps.

Diets don't work. 99% of people gain it back. Good carbs like celery and carrots will never make you fat. Bad carbs like cake will, but you don't need to know the whole science of glycemic index and load. It is mostly NOT your fault, if you need to lose weight. The way we have been taught to eat is responsible for making obesity the number one health problem in the world (according to Atlantic Monthly magazine) replacing hunger and infectious disease. You need to re-learn how to eat so you can become thin. Not a diet, but diet lifestyle.
Find out about fastest way to lose weight, gradual ways to lose weight, most effective exercise, good and bad carbs and anti-water. Lose bodyfat and retained water which also makes you a lot fatter (bloated). Links page has gov. BMI calculater to find out just how much overweight you are. Most important-- make sure to read the last "fat loss tip", first before anything else, to see the number one food that causes Americans to be fat.

Yes it is possible but you will have to work hard at it.
You must eat less and not cheat on your diet. I notice you say you are dieting Mon. to Fri., what about Sat and Sun?? If you go off your diet for those two days you will not make your weight loss by Dec.
You would have to lose 2 pounds a week to make your date and that is going to be hard but if you go off your diet for 2 days a week you will not make it....IMHO...
