Depends on his age which you have not mentioned. Very young
children (male or female) do not know right from wrong. A lot
depends on how they are treated when they do not even know
how to express themselves. The young are more instinctive
than rational and will react immediately to any provocation.
If he does not understand what is asked, he will reply on pure
instinct which, normally, will not be the truth simply because he
has no idea of truth. The reverse will also happen, when he
replies truly not knowing that he is being correct. I think you guys
should pay a little more attention to his needs and, hopefully, you
will see that the problem is solved.

Are you telling the truth?

I doubt it.

Ask your brother if he wants £1000. If he says yes you must give it to him for spreading lies about him over Yahoo Answers. If he says no you can keep it.

Ask your brother if he wants to give you £1000. If he is a liar, he must say yes.

I do not believe anyone could get through life by ALWAYS lying. It would be very difficult, anyway.

People lie for different reasons. Some people lie to become popular or liked, or some people do it to make themselves look good or to avoid punishment. Once he understands that lying is wrong and is a sin, he will learn to be honest.

I think that it's strange, because you grow up with your siblings and watch them develop and make mistakes, my brother always lied t one point, to everyone, now he's not too bad. Maybe your brother will grow out of it in time! XX

He can't face or live with the truth. Liars have reasons for their lies but then they become pathological and pretty soon can't even distinguish the truth from lies. They just want to make up their own story of how they want things to go and those lies can hurt other people.

Well, why not lie. You can tell people what they want to hear and get the best reaction out of people. It's also fun to watch people belive anything you say, without question.

He might not want people to know the real him, so he lies to keep himself hidden.

i have a sister who always lies. people lie for many reasons. my sister lies for attention. your brother might be the same. it could be to make himself look better, be apart of the conversation, attention etc. my sister stopped lying to me as much because i would catch her and confront her. maybe that would work for you.

Depends what he's lying about. If its about money and stuff he may have a drug problem. If hes too young for that he may just be a compulsive liar and it's something you're going to have to put up with

Perhaps he's planning a surprise for you!

OK, it's a rubbish answer but at least it's better than all the man bashing that seems to precede me.
