Grandfather was Antonio Schievenini, Schievenin or Schiamenin. Grandmother was Paolina Roman, I believe. They were married in Italy and had 2 daughters there, Mary and Annie. They had 3 more daughters here, Lena, Elsie and Connie. Came to US between 1900 and 1915. Brother, Francesco Giovanni Roman. Brother, Noe Schiavenin who lived in Quero-Stazione.

Did they arrive at Ellis Island, New York? Because you can access the records with passenger names of almost all the ships that arrived there. The records give the names of the passenger's hometowns. Once you have a place, then you just have to start searching Italian phonebooks in that area.

I am quite happy & satisfied with the choice of my grandparents to come to the USA. I have traveled to many other places in this world and have observed & studied a few other cultures. I feel fortunate that America provides an opportunity for success and that I live in this time period of history. I know that if I had been born & raised in other places on this earth during the 1940s, I might not have survived or have had my opportunities to be educated and employed. I like living right here.
