I'm sure everyone knows about the foiled terroists plot. Do you think the government should be required to reimburse the passengers that had to throw away a good amount of personal stuff?

If the policies were not pre-posted, then I'd make a good argument that it's a Fifth Amendment Takings violation that requires compensation.

Look, you can take liquids in your luggage...just not ON YOUR CARRY ON!!! this provision to the items list applies to carry ons. My Brother in law works for TSA

I am upset that I can't even clip my nails on a flight anymore, because you know.....I cant contain myself and wait till i get to my destination...but hey, I can take 6 books of matches!

To answer the question, NO...I don't think that the government should reimburse passengers for crap that the TSA officers have to throw away/confiscate. There are listed items that are not allowed on flights, the passengers are told IN ADVANCE! its not TSA/Government's fault that the passengers didn't heed their warnings.

No. I understand some of the airports handed out padded envelopes and offered to pay postage to ship it.

I heard one woman left several bottles of expensive perfume for the maid, and that the San Francisco airport trash cans had a number of bottles of Napa Valley wine in them.

It is a shame, but it is good that we are so adaptable.

NO because then people would start bringing stupid stuff just to get a reimbursement check. Besides if you travel you can look up what is allowed and not allowed and not bring those items. It totally suck though and I do think it is fricken ridiculous what you cant bring. BOO!!

reimburse - no. But I do think they should set up a post office at the airport and provide envelopes/boxes so you can mail the items to your home.

... You're worried about money for some simple products rather than the safety of 3000 passengers that could have died today?
