In GA, it's a dab ( such as " I'll have a dab of chow chow with my beans! - that refers to anything under a regular size portion. If in a nice eatery, ask for a lunch portion for a smaller amount.

This is a made up word from my family...no clue when or how it started, but when we want just a little bit we say "zip." Example:

"Can I have a drink of your soda?"
"Don't take a big drink I don't have much left."
"Ok, just a zip."
