I just want to know if anyone else has this phobia? I'm ok if they are in the mouth, are clean and not being touched in any way. If I see, hear about or even think about teeth that are doing something odd in anyway I feel cold and clammy, sick, dizzy, trembly and short of breath and my heart starts beating quickly. I've looked on the internet and can only find ordontaphobia-fear of dentists. Although I do have extreme fear of dentist too.Does someone else fear teeth or am I going mad?

Also, any idea how to fix this? I can't afford private therapy or hypnotherapy so it would have to be a book or something cheap like it.

This is a serious question and I ask you to be sensitive in your answers, please don't mention teeth! I feel sick enough just typing this. Many thanks.

I've never heard of a phobia of teeth, but everybody is different and have different kinds of phobias. You say you can't afford therapy but is there a close friend or relative that you could talk to about this at length? If would give you the chance to get it off your chest and try and work through your feelings about the whole thing. You could learn some relaxing breathing techniques to help you when you get sick or dizzy. I think you just need to talk it through and try and develop some coping strategies to make the situation easier for you. Good luck.

This is much more natural than you think. First because nobody
has perfect teeth which are naturally light yellow. We watch TV
and, in most propaganda pauses, there are flashy adverts for
toothpaste, brushes and other complements on tooth habits.
Most adds induce you to believe that your teeth are lousy and
need help from their product. The appearance of a beautiful
girl smiling at you saying do as I do "use Colgate" recommended
by all dentists and myself! How do you know that her teeth are
all capped and snow white. This is negative propaganda for you
and positive for the trade. Toothbrushes - it is all the same. Make you feel lousy so their profits go up. Look at animals - they show
their teeth when growling "mad" - we show them for opposite
reasons because it has become a social habit of joy and
happy or funny reasons. Who is correct, the beauties, the dentist
who gets very well paid for speaking out a script? Listen, my friend,
I once did a propaganda for a health service (for no pay) because
the hospital was bankrupt. This is a hobby so I know what it is all
about. In the first month, showing me dressed up as a doctor,
script in hand - showing in large outdoors - cinemas, TV,
newspapers etc. They needed 10.000 clients in the first month.
It got them 22.000 and it was so successful that they hired a
third party pro company to carry on. Now, they are in a good
financial situation and do not even recognise me. So I now am
helping (when asked) Aids foundations and others in need of
help - I know a little about propaganda. Keep your teeth
and do not worry about all the bul... and stop listening to all
that TV
propaganda, smile freely and only take advice from your own
dentist. Sorry for mentioning teeth, but I sense that your problem
is natural. Listen my friend, I have dentures - both uppers and
lowers. Good luck!

Hmm. I would say that the only way to calm this fear is to face it. I know it sounds dumb, but you have to see that there is no reason to be afraid. Try touching your own teeth and getting a feel for them. Then try googling pictures of teeth and just look at them. Do this as slowly as you need to. I think it's the only thing that will help you.
