If you believe in Heaven, then I guess that you believe in God as the Bible says right? If that is so, you know that God is who determines whoe gest eternal rest in Heaven and who does not and it is not an arbitrary, but based on his righteous law.
The basics for this Grace of God and repetance (stop doing any kind of evil) and faith in the sacrifice of JesusChrist for you. That simple. He has promised that if you have these 2 things and remian faithful until the end, as sure as he exists you will be with him in heaven.
Sometimes is difficult to know whether or not our loved ones are with God in heaven. Some other times it is very evident beacuse it is clear that they are living righteous lives that reflect the love of God in the earth. However, since all judgement has been given to Jesus only him can tell for sure whether or not somebody enters into heaven.
If your parents had repetance and a true faith in Jesus then you can have for sure that they are in heaven and now it is your turn to live a righteous life to join them when your time comes. It is just a "see you soon". You got it?

No, God said that the Dead know nothing. So your parents are sleeping and when God comes The dead in Christ Will be the first to rise.

honey, they sure are! it is the most wonderful place, family, friends, pets are all reunited in such a beautiful kingdom. there is no suffering, just love and joy.
your parents as mine look over you. they must love you so much and their pride must be so great.
you know they will always live in your hearts and that is called memory. when you have children they will know and love their grandparents through you.
i have 3 sons--Dad never saw them on this earth. he has guided them through their lives and they love him with all their hearts. i hear them repeating stories that the boys heard from me. love never dies--just continues living as memory.
mine watch not only me nut my children and now grand-babies as my siblings and their children.
