Probably not. You need 256 MB of RAM at least (512 is best) plus 8 gigs of hard drive space.

You'd be better off getting XP on a new Dell for $200 since XP will cost you $100 retail.

I believe that you have to have windows 98 or newer to upgrade. System requirements are as follows. 300 mhz processor or better,128 mb ram minimum, (says 64 mb ram will work but may limit performance on some features) 1.5 gb hard disk space and a super vga monitor or better. keyboard mouse and cdrom drive. That is what the windows xp box says.

I sugest you keep the win95, I upgraded my office computer to xp with it running on pentium. It became too slow, it sometimes gives me goosebumps thinking that I may lose my data.
Just to add a note.

what you need to do is go to MS site, and look at the min requirements for xp, and then see how yours matches up to it, If it always had win95, I would say no, it is probalby not near enough computer, and upgrading and buying xp would not be cost effective since new pc's are so chaep right now

win xp takes up between 4gig and 6gig of hard drive space. you also need to check the minimum requirements for hardware before installing it. If you have the right hardware just put it into your disk drive when your pc is on and it should load then select upgrade
