I catch my 1.5 year old son sneaking into my kitchen and eating my daughter's powdered forumula like it's a cookie jar. I have tried disciplineing him about it, but it doesn't seem to work. (Yes I put it up where I think he won't be able to reach it, but he goes through an extra effort to get it still.)
I think the first logical step is to figure out why he likely has this fascination with it. Any ideas? Or ideas of how I can get him to stop?

It is up high, he gets on a stepstool, and will even try and get on counters or stack things up to try and get it. He's a resourceful little man lol
He doesn't try and drink her bottle, just eat the powder.
I'm going to go out and buy some more cabinet locks and hope that helps... the powdered milk idea sounds good too.
Ty for the advice so far, and any more is greatly appreciated!)

He just wants what the baby gets. Buy him some powdered milk or occasionally give him some powdered Nestle Quik or other milk additive and tell him the baby can't have any because it is for big boys only.
Give him lots of love and attention and be careful that you monitor him closely so he doesn't fall while climbing to get to the milk. Better yet, lock the milk in a lower cabinet using any number of products designed for that purpose.

Hey, maybe he really likes the way it tastes. Get him his own batch. You really can't beat the nutrition factor. It's gotta be better than junk food! Give him his own and tell him this is for you and leave hers alone. i got a feeling that he will tire of it and move on to something else.May be he does it because he likes the attention he gets when you make a big deal over it. If you give him some he will lose interest if that's why he does it.

My brother's teenagers are 2, 4, and 6. the two 12 months previous is a boy, the older 2 are the ladies folk. My nephew likes to do girly issues together with his sisters (which incorporate nail polish), yet he additionally likes being on my own to play together with his vehicles, trains, and Spiderman toy. it rather is common, the older he receives, the less fascinated he would be.

Sibling rivalry. He is worried lil sis is getting something good that he's not. I had stopped bottles when my sister was born right before my first birthday. When she got a bottle I threw a fit until my mom finally gave me one and I saw how nasty it was. Just buy him the cheapy cheapy powdered stuff and if he asks for it give it to him in a sippy cup. He'll get past this when he decides it's nothing special.

My daughter did the same thing! I did what the one mother said...I bought some of the cheaper kind and made her a bottle and gave it to her. She thought it tasted awful! I could tell! But she kept on drinking it and soon she tired of acting like a baby. You gotta tell him stuff like: " babies can't eat french fries or drink soda like you can! " Babies can't jump like you can! ETC.....

Maybe it tastes good. I would fill the container with something else that he likes and is good for him and let him have at it. But don't use something that tastes bad because he might think the baby is getting something weird.

Have you ASKED him in a non-confrontational way why he is doing this?
Does he know how expensive it is?

ACK! Sorry...I read that as 15 yo instead of 1.5 yo!
Put it up high...lock it up. Put a gate on the kitchen.

He probably likes the way it tastes. Punish him or hide it so only you & your daughter know. Think of the last place he would look.

He may think that his sis is getting something he isn't and he is jealous. I would try to explain to him that he is a big boy and as such he gets all sorts of things that sister doesn't.
