They can work, I'm the living proof of it since my parents started on a long distance relationship. And then, as history repeated itself, I started a long distance relationship and 18 months down the line we're living together....
It is possible, but you have to truly love each other and be able to trust one another. It's not easy, far from it... but it's sooo rewarding when you finally get back together!

No of course not, they are im's, phone calls and emails. How long is that really enough for anybody? Relationships are about spending time together, dealing with everyday situations together and building a history and a life together, that is impossible long distance.

It depends on how long you were together and how strong your realtionship was. Also is it a temperary thing or permant? It really depends on the two of you and how your relationship is. It's not easy at all. If it's a few hours not a big deal but states away, I am not sure. but anything is possible.

only if you both are willing to give it a try, a relationship like this requires a lot of trust and patience. im not gonna lie and say its gonna be easy, because it wont, not at first, there will be lots of bumpy roads throughtout. and its up to the both of you to overcome what may.
I had a relationship like this and now im happily married to the love of my life for 3 years now.
Good Luck! :o)

I don't really believe they work , but there are some that do work. So I rate it as a 75% they don't and 25% they do. It really involves a lot of trust and communication and how often you see each other.

no, not unless the distance thing is only temporary, then as long as it lasts until you live closer together you should be ok, but if your long distance for the foreseeable future, then your more than likely to drift apart.

Yes - I have one - works brilliantly because we have a relationship based on more than physical interaction. Have time to miss each other. There is genuine commitment there. Have our own space too which is really healthy.. I love it and he is not too bad either!

Well, I'm constantly throwing my other half on a plane, well ever six weeks and he just keeps coming back - about six weeks later. There are women on his ship and there were women on the Naval base he used to work in and there are lost of men in our community but we've just celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary because we are committed to eachother!!
