cute doesn't necessarily mean their looks although it can. It just means you like something they did or said and it's a way to tell them sometimes I say it because it's something he said that either touches my heart or makes me smile. I think he likes it. I know he did when I said he was cute meaning looks said he had never been told that before. I guess some guys think it sounds too childish not manly enough but it's just another way of saying good looking or you like their sweet attitude towards life. I agree with catarina I would rather have a "cute" guy than a "hot" one anyday.

men....not so sure
I have been called cute plenty of times and if I'm alone with my girl it's ok but around the guys it can be a little embarrassing. It's not as bad as (sugar plum) but it's along the same lines.
It's not really that big of a deal but that's what it's all about.

It is wimpishh and gayisshhhh to be called "cute"....MEN are just handsome (and that only counts for some tv actors and male models)....babies and puppies are "cute"...and only WOMEN can use that word...MEN can only quote the word as I just did...or when writing a book or something...

Yeah, they hate that in my experience. But I have to tell you, I am really more turned on by someone with their own special brand of "cute" than by someone most other women think of as "hot."

You can say we are nice if we did something to deserve it. You can say we are good looking or handsome but cute makes us sound gay.
