Youth Hunting?

I am 22 years old. I love hunting, fishing, trapping, anything outdoors. Is it just me or are people from my generation and younger losing the true aspect of hunting and the traditions that go along with it. It just seams to me more and more people are just buying a gun and shooting anything that moves with little or no respect for the ethics of the game.

It all depends on the person, there have always been people like that. What i'm seeing more and more is that people are being turned anti-hunting by groups like PETA and others at earlier ages. This was generally a city occurance, but it is radiating out into the country side. I believe this is generally because the children don't understand the DNR would be forced to kill these animals anyway and are just acting off of emotion other than fact.

you are right there. they just take the fun out of things by shooting at anything. i live in australia and things here just dont seem like they did years ago. when i go hunting with a few other mates who are younger than me they just shoot at anything and have no respect for things.

Yes you are right in a sense but as you mature you tend to change your focus of hunting. You are less concerned with killing and more concerned with the methods in which you hunt.

you need to move to alaska most of us youths still respect the values of hunting and fishing here.In fact im hoping to go moose hunting next month.

It is true. I am youger than you, and my generation, my whole school, I am the only one who hunts or fishes. That is really sad.
