basically there are gases such as methane, carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, hydroflourocarbons and plurflourocarbons that get released into the atmosphere. it accumilates in the ozone layer and traps heat on our planet. as it surrounds earth, it doesn't allow the sun's rays to reflect down on earth (onto the clouds) and release the heat via reflection off of the clouds.
on the other hand, when the ozone layer is completely compacted with these gases it denies the sun to shine it's rays onto earth. since every living thing on earth needs the sun's energy to survive... this will become impossible. it is believed that another ice age will hit us in the future

What is Global warming??? OK, global warming is when the earth's temperature raises globally, it's OK that you don't know because many think it's not real, it is. It a serious problem, if we recycle more, ride our bikes more, turn off all lights when not in use, start carpooling more, and using solar, wind, and water as energy. I'm glad you asked, everyone will be help or touched.

Global Warming is the result of greenhouse gases that come from natural sources like volcanoes, but more significantly, man-made sources such as vehicles. The green house gases trap in the Earth's heat, not allowing it to escape back into the atmosphere. This results in the gradual rise in temperature. This could also lead to the beginning of an Ice Age because as the greenhouse gases increase, they can reflect the Sun's rays (heat) away from the Earth and back into space.

Firstly, I think that torbis80 did an EXCELLENT job of answering this question. All people who do not believe in global warming, just make me furious. Those people really don't think that all the factories, and cars, and cutting of trees is not ruining the enviorment?? Second, WHO told you we have enough room for landfills??? Ya, right! Do you want your kids, to be digging on day and find trash bags, instead of finding fresh dirt and worms. Global Warming is the result of our ignorant species not recycling, only making cars that are "electric" or gas, caring so much about money, factories, cutting down trees, poaching animals, and not caring about the enviorment.

Global warming is cyclical and mobile. It is experienced in the Northern Hemisphere starting in July lasting about 3 months. It moves slowly south until it hits areas like Australia, Chile, Argentina and South Africa in December. The ancient ones had a term for it, I believe it was called 'summer'.

The average temperature of the earth has been measured to be increasing by several different means, at a rate that is not characteristic of natural causes.
The presumption is that since the rate of increase is uncharacteristic, and since no increase in solar activity has been measured, that it is probably being caused by human activity.

goblal warming is an effect of human activity becuse there is and increased amount of carbondioxied so uv rays can escape away fromthe earth so it increses the temperature and makes the weather go crazy

global warming is when pollution gets in the atmosphere and makes it get hotter and hotter on earth because the pollution keeps the heat in and won't let it out. this results in glaciers melting, icecaps melting, droughts, so on......
