Why do these Islamic terrorists use common sense and lateral thinking and we do not ?

Let me explain ! I think I was probably about 10 years old when I saw my first tv news appearance of two jets that were hijacked and blow up in some desert or other. I am now in my mid 40's.

It is a metal tube with two wings attached full of highly flammable fuel.

The terrorists have used perfect logic to find the most efficient way of hurting us - basically by using our own infrastructure against us ?

There is another salient fact that this current breed of terrorists have learned to use against us - they know that human life actually HAS a pre-determined value, because governments and insurance companies and such like use risk analysis type models to determine the ratio between disaster and time and giving it a value. As one unfortunate passenger held up at one UK airport during the latest crisis pointed out ''if they feel they need to do these checks then why haven't they always done them". Answer - Money. Making a liquid bomb from sum nitrate derivative is not new technology !

Because the general population likes to feel that they aren't in danger. TOO MANY people subscribe to the "ignorance is bliss" philosophy. The danger has always been there, and always will be. We just like to pretend that it isn't. Because, really, if we all went around thinking everyone else was trying to kill each other, society would degenerate into chaos and anarchy.

1. Basically, with the current administration, they like to do things the hard way. Unfortunately, we haven't had any brilliant thinkers in power for the past 6 years.

2. Hopefully, the 2008 elections will change to a more productive, mentally efficient administration.

Blowing up a few planes, although tragic, isn't squat compared to what they would like to do to us. That is just the best they can do. America and the British will stay the course and these terrorists WILL be defeated.

Islamic terrorists are completely ILLOGICAL. How has terrorism helped their cause? Has it got them what they wanted? Has it succeeded in accomplishing anything but adding to mayhem and loss and hatred? Does it feed anyone? Put a roof over anyone's head? Provide anyone with health care? Does it educate the young to do anything but kill and destroy and waste their lives? Give me a specific time when terrorism has worked.

Because Islamic terrorists are ALL about destroying human life. It is what they live, eat, and breathe. To them, their highest honor is in dying for Islam and taking out as many non-Islamists as possible with them.

The rest of us live, eat, and breathe life. We are about our families, and our friends, and about living life to the fullest. Many of us are also about helping our fellow man and about compassion and hope for a better day. All the things that pertain to life.

We are blinded by our belief that the rest of the world thinks (or ought to think) like we do.

Think about events leading to 9/11. Two of the hijackers took flying lessons from a guy who later would say that, yeah, it seemed kind of odd that they weren't interested in learning how to land. That instructor, pre-9/11, was just any average Joe Shmoe American. "Ok. You don't want to learn how to land? No skin off my back."

He was thinking about life. And making a living. And supporting his loved ones.

I think it's hard for those of us who are into life, our life and the lives of others, to change over and think in the same mindset of those whose sole purpose in life is to kill as many people as possible while dying with them.

And that's how we get blindsided. Hooray for those who now not only HAVE to think like the terrorists, but who also have successfully thwarted many terrorist attacks.
