Well, yeah, probably. Have you stopped going because you don't like "reruns"? Perhaps there is more to the service than just the sermon?

Just think about it, priests, ministers, preachers, rabbis, etc have to write these sermons every week. After a while, they may run out of ideas, get writer's block, or just get tired.

Where I go to church, the readings are on a three year cycle. So, we get some of the same readings over and over, too. That probably means the same sermons come up! I try to listen to the sermons and get a different message each time. After all,I am a different person from the first time I originally heard the sermon.

My husband and I have a friend who is a minister. He uses "old" sermons when he is running short on time, depending on how his week went. When he gets transferred to a new parish, he can use his old sermons like they were new.

if you have been to chuch for over 20 years its verysad that you are asking this question. chruch is about worshiping the lord and its about love overall. i mean look at me im a 14 year old boy christian and i really havent been to an actual church that much, but in the bible it says that church CAN be considierd a gathering of 2 or more people reading the bible and worshiping the lord and our savior jesus christ. so for your question no the sermons are NOT recycled and to you if you really think that church is about reciyvling then you probbaly havent been paying attentiopn. no disrespect but when your pastor or preist preaches the word he is saying something that is coming straight form the heart and not reading some notes he wrote on his arm or omething. i mean i might SEEM like he is reciycling the sermons becasue the bible is only so big and after 20 years of worship you should be very familiar with the bible and the word. so it seems like he is saying the stuf over and over again but he is not, its all coming form the heart and its all in your head. just keep worshiping and you have an impressive reseume with over 20 years of worship. so keep going to chuch and god bless.

it depends on the church. I visited one where the preacher used the same old beat up copy of readers digest to pull points from at least once a month. the people who went to church there eventually replaced him.

Yes. Only sometimes they come up with different words and phrases. Still, it's boring. Much better if I read 1 or 2 biblical verses, play it around and sank it in my mind.

yes basicially they are, but it is the unique twist and story that the minister puts behind it that makes it special and tells a little more about the story.
