I have a budget of $20 to get a good brand of mousse that will work in medium thickness hair, I want to be able to curl both tight and loose with this mousse. PLEASE HELP!!! It would be great if I could find the brand at a nearby or popular store like Wal-Mart, or Ulta, or something.Oh, and I'm completely new at this curling thing so some tips would be helpful, thankx. Thankx. :)

You really shouldn't use mousse to curl your hair, unless you're putting it on your hair and blow drying it for a little "hold" power.

What you can do is use your curling iron on one inch section (like a square...1x1) run the curling iron from the base of your hair shaft (close to your scalp) to the ends once or twice, quickly. This will heat up your hair.

Spray a little hair spray on it before you do the actual curl. Start your curling iron from the base of your hair, opening the curling iron slowly as you turn it. Do not leave the curling iron on your hair for more than 15 seconds. VERY important not to fry your hair!

Put a little clip on the curl after your done. Let it cool that way. You'll have long lasting curls that will start off tighter, and loosen throughout the day.

Also, remember...tighter curls = smaller curling irons. Wavy curls = larger curling irons. After you are done, take all the little clips out of your hair and use your fingers to style. Use a little hairspray to keep it all in place and you'll have the best hair day of your life.

If you have naturally curly hair, John Frieda's Dream Curls works awesome. It's not a mousse, it's a spray. It leaves your hair soft and not crunchy. You can get it at Wal-Mart for like $5.

Well, Uhm it depends on how much your willing to spend. I use Garnier Fructis but I don't know how that will work for your hair. A little on the expensive side but Paul Mitchell hair products are the best! I would try that and just save up an extra ten bucks or so :).
