MUSLIMS ARE TERRORISTS

2006-08-11 05:51:30 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

A fanatic is a fanatic, regardless of the religious preference. However, I know what bias you are talking about. The problem is that the people who create the news and so fort are Christian, and because they have an inside perspective, they will not be so quick to judge those like them.

The same bias goes for other religions. For example, if someone has a Wiccan book in her/his house, the news will say that person may be involved in the occult or is a "self proclaimed" witch. However, the same coverage doesn't occur when a Christian Bible is found in the house! Furthermore, the need to point out religion only seems to occur when the person is not Christian. I guess it is just assumed that everyone is a Christian in the first place!

Christians have a pretty bloody past as well: the Crusades, the Inquisition, the Burning Times, the KKK, and so on and so forth...

We do often call Christians fanatics, and sometimes we'll call a Christian or two an extremist;

These days, though, there is generally a big difference between the Christian fanatic and the Muslim fanatic, so while we may at times call them both the two terms the definition for each term is different in each case.

A zillion people have said a zillion times: Nobody cares what somebody believes as long they don't want to kill everyone who doesn't believe what they do. You asked a question that makes it seem as if nobody understands the difference between Christians and extremist Muslims and as if nobody understand why people these days don't like extremist Muslims who want to kill the people they don't like.

It may be true that most people don't want to let fanatical Christiians make all the policy and laws either, but its a whole different thing than what's going on with Muslim extremists, and you know that....

So you've never heard of a fundamentalist Christian?

In my opinion, it's to do with bias about who's talking, and the stage that Islam is in compared with Christianity. Christianity's been used far more cruelly in the past and is older and wiser now. Let's not forget the Crusades! Islam's got a long way to go to be tolerant and less amenable to extremism, in my opinion. To do that, it needs to accept criticism and questioning, but unfortunately there are too many powerful extremists around for that to happen easily.

Have you read some of the religion questions on this site from the "Christian-haters"? They ask why Christians are so hateful. They say that Christians think they can be mean to everyone and still go to heaven. They try to disprove the Lord.

I think there are a lot of people on this site that are really ignorant about religion period. They can't like (or accept) what they don't understand, so they mock it. I'm a Christian and I believe that my life reflects my beliefs in Christ. I am compassionate, tolerant, loving, forgiving, and understanding of all people (although I have a hard time with those who make fun of my beliefs). I don't judge anyone based on their religion and I wish more people would do the same. Your beliefs are yours and mine are mine. Whoever is "right" in the end can say, "I told you so."

Don't fool yourself, there are Christians who are fanatics and extremists too. The KKK quote the Bible many times, and so do some of them white supremacist groups.

And on a more local issue, isn't there, usually, a priest or minister in attendence during executions, right before we zap the sap [no pun intended] with an ungodly amount of electricity?

Because it's all about point of view.

Christians can be pretty damn evil. They're responsible for many massacres (The Crusades, for one).

Every religion has its bad eggs, but there are good ones in every religion too. That said, I'm not a fan of most religions, especially Christianity and Islam (they are the most violent.. and I'm not being cruel or judgmental, it's a historical fact. Heck, I used to be a Christian).

There are extremists in the Christian faith as well... those that blow up abortion clinics; those that kill docs that perform abortions...KKK...these were all freaks that performed these acts in the name of God... This is anything, but living a life for Christ. Hate the sin NOT THE SINNER.

A Christian that is spreading his/her faith is only doing what he or she is feeling led to do. Why do you have to be so full of hate towards Christians? Does that really make sense to YOU - do you feel good about that?

I can't say I've heard of many Christians crashing planes into tall buildings deliberately killing thousands of innocent people for no reason. Or issuing death threats against authors and artists for publishing something they don't like. Or paying a poor man to drive a car bomb, with the promise of virgins in the afterlife and money for his starving (and soon to be fatherless) family.

why? probably because they believe everything the media states . kind of like brainwahed to think a certain way instead of looking up the information for themselves.

well at least some people have gone out of the cycle. but for a lot of people, they cant get past the news stories.
