You are COMPLETELY fat... not being mean - just realistic... my guess is those others lying to you are hefty too... Trust me, I am almost (but not quite) 5'3" with a very muscular physique as well... close enough to compare... I WAS 135 a couple months ago and I WAS fat... I'm down to 117, and still need to lose a few more...
Cut your calories to NO more than 1200
Excercise at LEAST 5 hours of HIGH impact cardio a week ... 7 is better
Stop eating high sodium foods
do 1-2 sessions (NO more) of lite weights with high reps (200 hip abductor and adductor at the lowest weight that you can feel resistance) to trim those inner thighs (and STOP making excuses... you CAN lose that fat!)
assited squat machine (back of thighs, butt) same drill
Do the eliptical rather than the treadmill - it burns more calories and tightens all over... if you have the choice between the kind with or without arms - use the arm version... NEVER hold onto the railings of ANY equipment you're on... it's a false workout as you are no longer "weight-bearing"
It took me about 3 months... you can do it too...

the average is 100 lbs for 5 feet and 5 lbs for every inch after that. Add 10% for large bones. So your weight would be calculated at 110 to 121 as ideal. However, muscle weighs much more than fat, so you should go by the fit of your clothes. If you are concerned then ask a doctor. only diet and exercise will lose fat. If you are maintaining your current weight you could probably just add some cardio and weight training to tone those areas. Kickboxing or Pilates would probably work great for you if you just have a couple of problem areas to address. GL

135 pounds? Nope, you're probably not fat, judging by your comment about your muscles. I am 5ft3 and 140 pounds. I too have very solid thigh muscles (a rugby player would be proud). I play squash adn as a result, my legs have built up a lot of muscles. Many guys think it's sexy I can leg press more than them ;-) The fact is, you are a healthy weight as long as you have energy to do everything you want to (exercise, go for walks, get through your day), have no weight-associated health problems (sleep apnoea, high blood pressure, etc...adn your doctor will be able to tell you for sure). the bottom line is that weight really does mean nothing. Muscle is very heavy. On another note, if you want to tone up, or at least lengthen your muscles to have less bulk, I'd suggest pilates.

Fat can be inside of muscle. Your BMI is 25. 19 to 24 normal. 30 is obese. You can be thin and muscular if you want.
Good carbs like celery and carrots will never make you fat. Bad carbs like cake will, but you don't need to know the whole science of glycemic index and load. It is mostly NOT your fault, if you need to lose weight. The way we have been taught to eat is responsible for making obesity the number one health problem in the world (according to Atlantic Monthly magazine) replacing hunger and infectious disease. You need to re-learn how to eat so you can become thin. Not a diet, but diet lifestyle.
Find out about fastest way to lose weight, gradual ways to lose weight, most effective exercise, good and bad carbs and anti-water. Lose bodyfat and retained water which also makes you a lot fatter (bloated). Links page has gov. BMI calculater to find out just how much overweight you are. Most important-- make sure to read the last "fat loss tip", first before anything else, to see the number one food that causes Americans to be fat.

I am the same way. 5'2 and about 135. For me, I have a lot of thigh and calf muscle, but I definitely have a little bit of fat on my tummy and butt and stuff. But for me, I feel healthy and athletic. Based on my experience, I don't think you're fat at all. It's a pretty normal weight!

I know how you feel, I'm short too! I think I might have about a half inch over ya! When we're short, we really notice when we are carrying a extra lb. or two. I would suggest cardio, this will help you to burn fat and you'll feel better about yourself.
I'd suggest that you join a gym, the local ymca's are pretty reasonable and they have "real people" in them too. Take some classes that are cardio, step etc. or use their equipment.
You can also order dvd's online kickboxing, tae bo, aerobics, anything that will make you move will burn fat. You can also go for walks every day, this takes it off nicely too. Just remember to give yourself a day a week off for recovery.

My girl friend is 4' 10" and weighs about 120 lbs. Like you say, inside the thighs and butt, she could stand to loose a little, but she looks fine,,,I bet you do to. You're cool, short women are beautiful!

ha ha I'm the same height and weigh more than you. I weigh 140 + or - 5 lbs. I ask people all the time, but they always tell me that because I have the muscle mass I do, that I'm not fat. I think the same way you do, exactly the same. Trust me, from one to another, you're not fat.

I've heard that if you walk backwards for ways say 1/4 mile or up a hill it will work those thigh and butt muscles also walking in high hills will work the calf muscles. I don't think you are fat.

You didn't mention your age, but per Weight Watchers 130 is ideal up to 25 yrs old, and 135 from 25 - 45 yrs old.
To lose weight, burn more calories than you consume. Eat right, cut back a bit on your calorie intake, and exercise several days a week.

You should talk to your doc about your BMI. They can check and tell you how much fat you have percentage wise.
Muscle weighs more than fat, so if you exercise a lot you will actually weigh more on the scale.
