shy away from our Heavenly Fathers love?? All God wants to do is love us, He is not some angry, vengeful Father who longs to punish us, nothing can ever contain His lovingkindness. He wants to be with us, thats why He sent Jesus. It just baffles me how shallow our faith can be at times even after everything He has done for us collectivley and individually, be honset here. I think its fear, so why are we so afraid to let Him love us the way He wants to? I know we live in a fallen world but It's a battle, isn't it? Serious, honest thoughts...

Probably because we just can't handle such true love from the One who is love Himself. You are right, I think it's fear also to let God love us the way He wants to. We've fallen into the world's definition of God saying He is non-loving, and He dosen't even exist!! You have made me want to get closer to God in my personal relationship w/ Him. He is the only Being I know that has stood by my side even when I was angry at Him, sinned agaisnt Him, even almost giving up on Him when He would never give up on me even until the very end. You have allowed me to make the decision to let the Lord love me the way He wants to and not how I want Him to. May God bless your life and allow you to be a blessing to others as you have been to me!!!!!!!!!! Praise God evermore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's a rough life to follow Jesus, although, ultimately rewarding. I don't understand how so many people have no faith at all. I understand we all make the choose to except the Lord or turn away from him, it is just sad to me (not trying to judge, just in my opinion, you miss out on so much without him) how many people choose the latter! I couldn't imagine where I would be today if the Lord was not a part of my life, I do know I would not be where I am at. All I know is when the time comes, we stand alone in front of the Lord, and we can only account for ourselves. All we can do while we are here is love one another (where we agree or not) and treat each other with respect, spread the word of God and let people make there own decisions!!! Keep up the faith, the world wants you to fall. Be strong in faith and we will all be where we are supposed to be!!

I think it has alot more to do with fear. You have tempations during a christian walk and people do not know how to crucify their flesh. Some people are afraid of the things that they want God will not let them have because it is not according to his word. I don't think people want to put up with the battle of trying to make it in this world, they are tired of persecution for their beliefs. Some people may get tired of putting their faith into God and waiting for him to answer their prayers. Alot of people blame God and hold grudges against him for things that went wrong in their life that He may not have had anything to do with. There are alot of reasons why people could turn on God, but if they don't turn back then they will have to answer for their decisions for what they do .

I think honestly it's because we focus on other things, we sometimes worry about different things and become overwhelmed. Though God does say it is a sin to worry because you are supposed to completely trust in him. For some people I believe they get to wrapped up in "self", and they think whats going to happen to Me? How is this going to effect Me? Instead of just learning and focusing on his promises. See God understands it all every single thing we're going through, and if we doubt that he can't forgive us due to what we've done, then we're saying that him dying for us was not enough, that offends God the father. Once we realize that he understands it all, he wants forgive us,and he's there to help us. Its then that we can REST in him and begin to accept his amazing love for us.

I am glad to see a forum for those who choose to follow God. I think the way we behave was his motivation for trying to save us in the first place. But it is no good to force us, so he gave us free will to take his help. Some people are so lost that they refuse him. But take heart. He can turn anyone around and you get to help!

Honestly I don't know why... I think it scares us how God can be so great and us so small. Another thing is in our flesh we thrive for worldly possessions and flesh connections even though we Know God is the greatest and everything good is from God.

Thank you lord for all my blessing.

There is no God. What you really need to do is work on bettering the world for yourself and for the entire human race, and stop waiting for Jesus to ride his magical horse down to earth and take care of all of your problems for you.

YOU SAID IT. The answer is fear. fear of rejection, fear of submission, fear of loss of control. that is what it is. The more we move closer ot God by taking that step of faith over and over, along with fellowship with the body, regular bible reading, and prayer, will make you stronger in all aspects of your walk.

As Christians in America, I think we are just plain spoiled, and it is not getting better.

If we don't like what we hear in one church, we go to another one that makes us "Feel Good", when they don't make us "Feel good" anymore we switch again.

Gods word has not changed in 2,000 years.

Follow the true Church that Jesus left us!
